On Rebate —

In 30 years of RUNNING rebates I have never seen such a bad system.  As a customer I am outraged.  As a member of the marketing profession I'm embarrassed.  These guy should and will be investigated by the FTC.

Your experience seems common. I am in the same boat and now have to refer my problem to state/federal regulators to see if they can get my rebate for me. More than 5 months and I am very frustrated after contacting Sear's a number of times by phone and email.

I purchased a washer and dryer, refrigerator, and dish washer and was promised a rebate of $71.50. It has been more than 5 months and still no rebate. I have called and written many times and all I get is put off. Other (reputable) stores I deal with handle their rebates promptly and efficiently. Sear's obviously is not willing to fulfill their responsibilites when it comes to rebates so I refuse to do business with them anymore. Now I will have to refer this problem to state regulators to see if they can resolve it. My advice to consumers, go somewhere else like Best Buy or local retailers and just assume that you will never see the rebate if you deal with Sear's or Kmart.
