On Rebate — 

I hate mail-in rebates.  If a store is going to offer discounts, then quit playing games!  Give us the lowest price possible.  People are too busy and generally don't fill out the rebates, which I guess is the stores main objective.

same... here. I spoke with customer service before confirming the order and rebate. I hear all yes before order.. now either no answer of not reachable. I have spent so far - 30-40 hours on phone waiting to talk to customer service. Had i worked for that .. with minimal wages - i would have got twice my rebate money.

I bought a kitchen range in December '08. I was supposed to get a 10% rebate plus my delivery charge refunded. I checked to see the progress of my rebate once and was promised that all was in order. After another month or more, I received a letter stating that they could not read my sales receipt and were not sending a rebate unless I could send further proof. I have written to the Attorney General of the State of Florida, Frauds Bureau advising them how Sears is trying to weasal out of the rebate and refund. I am still waiting now almost 5 months after my purchase.
