from the cone part that attached to the base where the cord is. this part  in time will brake and the metal part will come off from the cone part and be by it self. not  only i buy 1 but another one to see if was going to do the same and indead did the same. not worth the 25.00 your are going to spend...

Great for the price!

I was looking for something to puree soups and sauces. I didn't want anything too cheap and wasn't looking for spend a fortune. I picked this one up after some comparisons. I like the metal shaft as opposed to a plastic one. It's worked really well! I used the measuring cup to make a quick batch of whipped cream too! I wouldn't use this to chop anything such as ice - as suggested by the company. Overall a great product for the money!

Hand blender

I use this little blender practically every morning for my smoothie breakfast and I love it. I am ordering it for my three girls for Christmas.

Tried to take my mom's

My mother gave this to me as a birthday gift. I was making a smoothie at home, and suggested that I would love to take it back to college with me. She suggested a new one. It works great. I put frozen fruit into it at night, stick it in the refrigerator and add milk or yogurt before blending in themorning. And it is MUCH easier to clean than a regular blender. Call me SmoothieMan!

I have had two of these in the past 10 years. The first one lasted about 7 years and then died. But seriously--for $20 it did a great job. Love using it for soups, salad dressings, and smoothies. I didn't use the plastic carafe that came with it. Either I put my stuff in a glass mason jar or I blend it in the pot.

You don't need to spend more money on a stick blender. This Oster is just what you need!
