If you're looking for outdoor lighting, there are LED lights that attach to the pole of a patio table umbrella, LED path lights that have solar panels to recharge their batteries, and LED outdoor spotlights that use larger solar panels for charging. Your local Sears home improvement associate can direct you to the solution that best meets your wants and needs.

For indoor lighting, the addition of a skylight can do wonders.

I recently installed a 3 light lamp post outdoors. I simply pigtailed the electrical portion to a cord and ran into garage and plugged in like christmas lighting. I set it on a dusk to dawn timer and it's amazing! I wanted a light to offset the garage door as most homes have one light on either side of garage door. I couldn't afford to hire an electrician so did it myself. My husband drilled holes in concrete and it is a solid lamp post...I also added solar pathway lighting but encourage you to spend a bit more and get the ones with the lithium batteries...they are sooo much more reliable! good luck! also, any outdoor lamp (usually a little more forgiving) for the elements adds nice ambience to any scene! pat
