A great, well reviewed TV. I love mine. I real have no complaints. It's not overly huge for a 50''. It is not terribly heavy. Great picture and sound ...and the price, come on. The mount I purchased was just about half the cost of the TV. This is a great deal full of value. I do notice the plastic surrounding...

my mother-in-law has one of these tvs. i hate them to death because in my opinion it's not even close to having a 1080p tv. if you like to watch your tv a lot or even if you just want to have a nice picture on a tv why not go the better route and get a 1080p tv.
I purchased this TV as a Christmas gift for my parents. I am amazed and delighted to say this is a great TV. The picture is vivid; the set-up was a snap; and the operation is fairly simple--even for older folks who may shy away from newer technology.
I would highly recommend this purchase to friends and family.
We did a lot of research before we made this purchase. Sears had the best price and we were able to pick it at the store. It was very easy to set up.
The picture was excellent right out of the box, and to us, no reason to go for the 1080. The digital stations were amazingly clear, especially on live sports.
I would definitely recommend this set to anyone.
I did hook it up to my audio system, and again, excellent. You can't go wrong with this unit.
Just bought this TV yesterday and could not be happier. I got it on sale for $999 plus 10% discount with sears card. You cannot beat this TV for the price. Do not hesitate to purchase because it's not 1080p resolution. It's not noticeable when you compare from a normal viewing distance of 6+ feet. Love it!
I'm a tight-wad with high standards in performance. This TV EXCEEDS my expectations in both value and performance. I did my homework on Consumer Reports. They gave this a great rating, but I was a little skeptical because of let downs in other CR reviews. What sold me was seeing a 720p DVD playing next to a 1080. If you are within 4 feet of the unit, one can see a difference (slightly grainy). At typical viewing distance, it is imperceivable (my vision is 20/15!) and still looks like you are looking through a window.
I payed $855. One could easily spend 3x this and only do slightly better in performance,...read full review »
We made the jump to hi-def with this television. The results have been wonderful. Ordering and pickup from Sears was very easy, and the price was the best anywhere. We haven't touched the settings, and have been totally pleased. The colors and detail are gorgeous. Football, hockey, and basketball all are terrific, and I am looking forward to watching my beloved Red Sox this spring. The 50" sized seems perfect for our room. Getting this TV has been the highlight of my winter.
The picture quality of this Panasonic 50" plasma HDTV Is absolutely outstanding. The colors are very sharp, and you can look at the tv from just about any angle.
One of the reasons I bought it was the front SD slot, now I can take my SD chip and check out my vacation pictures with ease. In addition the chip being the first generation the pictures are a lot sharper than when downloaded and burned on a CD or DVD.
I now know why Consumer Reports gives the Panasonic 720p such great reviews. I honestly doubt that the quality of this TV can be beat for the money. I would recommend this television to anyone who is looking to upgrade their current model.
My biggest concern was that it was about $1000 less than the next model. Don't worry - the picture is perfect and the sound isn't too bad either. In fact, I have not hooked up my surround sound yet and movies and sports still sound great. Don't waste your money on other models when this one will do just fine.
I would recommend shopping around for price and take...read full review »
The quality of picture is wonderful. I was hesitant to buy a 720p but that concern is not necessary. The only issue is with the sound quality. It seems a little muffled at times but that could be an issue on my end.
Great picture at a great price. I could not be more satisfied with this flat panel. Wall mounted it with all the cables in the wall to the DVD player on another wall. Easy to use remote.
