At $1499 this television was a great deal. I purchased it with my Sears card to receive an additional 5% off. In store pickup service was quick. Got home and assembled it within 5 minutes. It's a 2 person job to assemble because the screen is so large that you need one person dedicated to holding it upright. The Sears employee warned me that plasma screens should alway be kept upright so I didn't even want to lay it down during assembly. Once we turned on the television we were amazed at the flawless picture quality. I've read reviews of slight colorproblems with this class of televisions but I...

No pixelation like LCD or white out or black outs.. like you get on LCDs.
Sports and other fast action is great. You can see very nice details in shadows/black but also in the whites.
Would recommend to other to get. We have had the TV for 1 month. I haven't had any issues with the TV so far. Go big if you can.. I was going to get the G10 50 Inch but for the extra $240 the 4 inches make a big difference. Purchased online and picked up at the store. With easy of mind knowing that I transported it versus some unreliable shipping company. The first...
read full review »I've owned a 42" Panasonic Plasma for 4.5 years now and have always raved about it. Nothing comes close to a plasma display. When someone I know buys an LCD even when I tell them Plasma is the way to go..I just shake my head in disbelief. When it came time to buy another TV for the basement I did my research between LCD vs Plasma. LCD's have gotten better since I originally bought my 42" but they are still behind in terms of specs. I enjoy watching sports and playing video games and those too activities IMO require the picture quality of a Plasma (especially as the size of TV increases). If you're...
read full review »I have had the TV now for just over 1 month. I will not bore you with my search story. Basically I had boiled it down between this TV, a 52 inch LCD Samsung, and the 55 inch LCD/LED VIZIO. All three in the same price range. My son had purchased the V10 and after seeing it in home then comparing the specs to the G10 and SEARS price, this just seemed to be the best deal out there. The V10 does offer a better anti glare film which could be a factor when deciding on a Plasma screen versus a LCD. I have one point of reflection during the day on the G10, that being a small window in another...
read full review »PROs: Excellent contrast with more shadow detail than most TVs, smooth motion, and best overall picture quality for those with a critical eye (at this price)
CONs: Limited user menu controls for things that are common on other TVs (for example, lacks option to adjust R G B levels). THX mode, while otherwise excellent, is dim (and cannot be brightened) and worst of all: has green color push that cannot be corrected with user menu controls (Panasonic is supposedly working on the issue). Glass screen is reflective so best viewed in dim light or darkness. Heavier and uses more energy than LCD....

I purchased this tv about 2 months ago and have already written a very positive and lengthy review. I just wanted to tell everyone to ignore the negative review that was written about this tv. Whoever wrote that review doesn't know what they're talking about and from the sound of it probably hasn't even given the tv a chance. It's just some LCD/LED fanboyranting and raving for no reason. Plasma is still the best technology out there and if you do some research online you will find plenty of writing backing that up. Plasma are still better than these new fancy LED LCD's that...
The Panasonic 54" G10 is one of the most impressive televisions I have ever seen. If you want some of the top notch features that you find on a lot of your more expensive high end sets for a fraction of the cost, this is your T.V. You can get this T.V. at the cost of some of your sony 46" sets. Now granted this is if your conditions for viewing are suitable for a plasma. Dark and little or controllable natural light.
We wanted to upgrade to a flatscreen TV to mount above our fireplace. I wanted something to watch UK basketball on with the guys, so the Panasonic's 600Hz motion handling capabilities caught my eye.
The picture with a Blueray disc is breathtaking. Regular DVD's are gorgeous. The basketball games are of excellent clarity.
The sound certainly leaves alot to be desired. That's what kept this TV from getting 5 stars. They just don't put quality speakers in these things. Eventually I'll get a nice surround sound system, but for now these speakes will have to do.
The Viera functions are really cool....
