LockedLa-Z-Boy Preston Patio Furniture

posted on February 04, 2010 at 10:36AM Inappropriate?

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised seeing the addition of La-Z-Boy patio furniture this year. Trusting the La-Z-Boy name, we have no doubt that the chairs would be perfectly comfortable. However, before we take the plunge, we wanted to check the sturdiness of the table. Does anyone know if any of the Southern California stores would carry some items from the Preston line? I know majority of it is online/catalog only, but there were items such as the 5pc Motion set that did not have this exclusion.

I'd love to tell you how it is but we cannot find this furniture in stock in the entire Northern Virginia area and they won't ship it from anywhere else. Very frustrating!

We just assembled the 4pc dining set yesterday. Seems to be very sturdy and so far, we are very pleased with the purchase. The chairs have amble room are are very comfortable. The table seems very sold as well. The tiles to do bolt or screw down, but thinking this over - better for us; Now when winter comes, we'll cover the entire unit very well, but bring in the tile pieces for save keeping until spring. Like it so well that I'm ordering the conversation set now.

We have the dining set and conversation set and absolutely love it!  It's very sturdy.  We were very picky upon choosing this set so my husband checked everything before we made our decision.  We've had this set for a few weeks now.  The only thing I don't like it the cushions tend to fall over with the wind. They don't come with any type of straps to hold them down.  I figure I could fix this problem myself.

After having the patio set for only a week or so, I ordered the conversational set. We absolutely love it, love it!! The side chairs have a rocking feature that is nice as well. Ordered a set of ottomans to go with the rockers (on backorder), looking forward to adding them into the collection.  As with the dining set, the seating in the conversation set is just as nice and roomy, comfortable cushions; so much that at dark, we hated to have to retreat back indoors. If maintained properly I believe this set will last quite some time.

Anyone find covers that fit the patio and conversation set?  We decided that the investment was worth spending a little extra for protective covers.

We bought the seven piece, the four piece sitting area, a side table two ottomans, and the recliner.  No regrets whatsoever!  Incredible quality, easy to assemble, and very comfortable.  The lack of straps on the back cushion is a surprise, but not the end of the world.  (they should take the hint and put it on future versions!)  Live in Southern Virginia, had a week to wait for it to make it to the store, but other wise no problems.  Can't say enough good things about it all, a rarity in the outdoor furniture world...

We bought the outdoor recliners and the side table - love them! It was a pricey purchase but well worth it.  To save my investment I am investing in covers for the chairs.  My dad even likes them.  He's a big guy (275) and loves recliners and these passed the test.

My husband and I just went to the Sears store in Central CA after almost purchasing another set online. While we were waiting for salesperson to check stock, we sat down in the Preston Lazyboy set...and changed our minds. We ended up buying the conversation set. My husband is 6'2" and 250+ and was absolutely comfortable. They seemed very sturdy and I was glad to hear that they seem to be holding up well. Will look for covers myself to protect them during winter.

We just bought the whole set! Its great! Sears and the delivery company were GREAT! They are on top of their customer service. Aisha at BJI, Inc, the so cal delivery service and Kelly and Debra at Sears, were top of their class. Sears is even refunding the cost adjustments since the prices have gone down in the past ten days! The dining table arrived with a broken tile. The delivery company is sending a tile in 7 to 10 days and a can of touch up paint for minor dings and scratches! I am impressed. Anyone know of good patio covers for this great set?

The Garden Oaisis Furniture covers available in Sears stores will fit the conversation set.  You may have to stack the ottomans though to have them fit under the cover.

We just purchased the Lazyboy - Preston 4 peice set.  It took about 90 minutes to assemble and I was impressed with the quality of furniture and the hardware provided.  The set looks great on our patio and is so comfortable.  Don't be intimidated by the size of the box.  This ensures that all the pieces get to the consumer.  We unpacked the box and easily transported the entire set in our minivan.

Just received the 7 piece set yesterday. I must say I am very disappointed. Maybe we just got a bad set, but the first chair I took out of the box was either mis-manufactured or badly bent. When I attempted to put the arms on the chair, one side was about 2" off from where it needed to be to insert the bolts. Also one of the bolt holes in the bottom of the chair was mis-tapped so crooked that the bolt went in at an angle to the hole, and no it was not cross-threaded, just crooked. Seems like low quality manufacturing to me. After having this much trouble with the first chair I gave up and decided to return it. This too will be a chore since it does not fit in my vehicle. Free delivery was great...too bad they don't offer free returns.

Just received our conversation set yesterday.  LOVE IT.  Only problem was the loveseat had 2 right seat cushions.  Called the 1-800 number and she explained that the design has changed but the old cushions somehow got put in the box - she ordered me 2 brand new ones and was extremely sorry for the mixup.  Wish I would have gotten a few extra items while they were all on sale & Sears had their Friends/Family sale going on.

My husband and I bought this new set a month ago and are totally frustrated!! My husband spent all day putting together the set and when he got to the table there was a tile broken in the box. Called the customer service number and told that they would ship a new tile to us in two weeks. Well two weeks came and no tile. Again, called customer service and told it would be 3-6 weeks before we got the replacement tile. Then callled Sears and they said they would send a new table. New table came a week and half later, and guess what the tile top pieces were broke again. Now they tell us they can't find a table to deliver to us.After we have paid for the merchandice, so I have know idea how it sits because we have yet to enjoy our set on our porch.

We have the chairs and absolutely love them but opted for a different table so I cannot speak to the sturdiness of their tables.

can you still get the ottomans for the Preston set?

From the day we bought the casual set, we have been trying to get the ottomans.  They are on backorder at Sears..however, I have been in touch with Lazy-boy direct and they don't hold much hope for getting the ottomans.  Too bad, because that would really make the set perfect!  It is the most comfortable set we tried in the store, and love it at home!  I may need to order the chaise since we can't get the ottomans and I know it will be awesomely comfortable!
