What type of dog food do you use? I've always used Innova (and LOVE it!) but am curious what types of dog food others use.

I'd contact your vet for some recommendations, as they would be a good source for your type of breed, size, etc

I like Halo and Castor & Pollux. I've heard feeding raw is the best, but my dog likes his food cooked. Sometimes I will simmer a whole chicken, debone it, and he seems to like that as well.

p.s. Don't ask your vet. They will just try to sell you Science Diet because they make a profit.

Read the labels. Don't buy by-products, meat meal, preservatives etc.

Actually we use Hills Science Diet small bites lamb and rice formula dry food for our dog and he loves it.

However if you also own an indoor cat try not to give them Iams cat food thier stomachs can't handle the by products stuck in there. We have had success with the Purina Naturals cat food which has almost no by products

I don't have a dog, but the last dog I knew loved table scraps!!!  They need other things to supplement the nutrition, but they really enjoy table scraps

Our two dogs get; ADULT 1+ Years Eukanuba (tore the label off of the bag to "get" the correct spelling) Labrador Retriever dog food.

And, they LOVE IT!

Of course, adding the freshly heated chicken broth, with bits of chicken, probably helps them "inhaling" their meals.

Table scraps?

Oh.

That is probably what they consider ANYTHING either one of us has in our hands or ON a table...

The only thing my male Labrador will leave me alone with are olives.

Wait!

I'm getting my coffee.

No...

You can't have coffee.

That's people-food.

Oh, yaa...

You're a "people", too.

Crazy dogs.

Lol! Your freaking me out!! So true about olives? I grew up with a med poodle. She would eat anything at all and beg, beg, beg at the table. If you just let her even sniff an olive, off she'd go prancing away. Even if you were eating steak. Don't know what it is with olives and dogs but if they could do the same with somthing for people it would be a goldmine!!

Sorry! I forgot to answer your inquirey. I know our pooche LOVED Mighty Dog but it had to be refrigerated or she would sniff and walk away. Maybe it had an olive in it___lol! AdamO will get that one! She was major healthy and lived a long life! Also had a pooche we'd feed Skippy Dog chow too. Don't know how he'd do it but he'd eat every bit and lick all the peas and carrots gravy clean and leave them at the bottom of the bowl???
