LockedPressure Washer cuts out - Overheating?

I have a craftsman 3100 psi pressure washer just out of my 2 year extended warranty and I can't keep the unit running.  I can start it and use it for about 10 minutes and then the engine cuts out.  Almost like it runs out of fuel.  I cna then start it back up and it runs for a bit and cuts out again. I already checked the carb and it seems to be getting a good flow of fuel. Does this unit have an overheat switch that might be faulty?

I too recently purchased a 2500psi unit and it will not start after 3 hrs of continuous use.  Is there a cooling off period or is it in need of repair?

That sounds like the gas cap isn't venting properly, creating a vacuum in the gas tank. Try loosening the gascap next time it stalls. Also pressure washer airfilters get wet from the overspray, but in your case, it's likely the cap.

This sounds like the airfilter getting soaked from the pressure washer overspray, eventually it dries out.

Along with the regular maintenance issues like making sure youre using fresh gas and have oil, I would recommend loosening the gas cap to prevent the shut off. If the vent mechanism is damaged, a vacuum is formed in the gas tank and the gas is more or less trapped and wont make it to the engine at all.

Hope it Helped

Are you releasing the pressure in the gun before trying to start the engine back up? That's one of the most common reasons for frustration with pressure washers.
