This bike came in a surprisingly small box and everything was carefully wrapped and there were no damaged or missing parts. The quality of the 10.8 is outstanding for the money. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the $500 bikes do, but so what. You don't need all that stuff. I have back... read full review »

Most Helpful Critical Review

I've had the bike for only about a month but I am happy with it so far.  I wanted a small, sturdy bike and don't really care about the heart rate monitor or programs so this one works well for me.  I haven't had any issues with the seat moving ( because I am petite, maybe) or the batteries ( I don't...

I had used a traditional exercise bike (air resistance) but, alas, the belt finally wore out. Not needing a high end product, I found the Pro-Form 10.8 Recumbant Bike fit my needs quite well. In the 3 months I've had it, I've spent at least 20 minutes a day on it. Can't complain about it's performance. It's easy to get off when I'm finished and is just the right height to watch the morning news on the TV while I work out.

The programmed routines give me enough of a workout to satisfy my health needs. I'm also able to set my own pace; which helps on those mornings when I feel like riding longer....

The seat slides back when you ride, store not very helpful with problem. There is a design problem. I feel they should be recalled. They will give our money back, but then we would have to spend another 100.00 dollars and have to put it together.

The bike is a five and right now it's still on sale for $199.00 at Sears. HOWEVER, this long running ad is not really available in the store. They don't really have them in stock, ever , and they will not get them in stock unless you open a Sears Credit line and pay their interest. Upon opening and charging your item to your new Sears Credit Card, they will be more than willing to have it delivered to the store for pickup within two -three weeks at the advertised rate. If you really feel strongly that you want this product but you don't want to open a Sears Credit line, you will need to purchase... read full review »

I wanted a bike that was comfortable. The seat was my main focus. Not only was the seat comfortable but there is a fan on the bike that keeps me cool, and I can just get in the zone so easily. I feel if I have to exercise, (and I do) It has got to be as easy and fun as possible. I put my ear phones on and before I knew it, I had already past my goal for the night. Yep if you are looking for comfort and fun with results, this ProForm Exercise Bike is a No Brainer! :O)

This bike is about 1/2 of the gym quality bikes in resistance.  I use  #10 (do you have one that goes up to 11?) and it is like level 5 at the gym but for a home fitness product, I am happy.  Very smooth and quiet.  Had it only 1 week.  Will see how it lasts.

I bought one of these just after Christmas in 2009, it was a floor model as it was all that was left. I had to exchange it under warrenty within the 1st 90 days due to the gearing/ resistance gears falling apart. When it was replaced I got the same bike and the exact same problem. The gearing/ resistance gears are falling apart. I can hear it inside the box and feel it while working out. I would not recommend this bike, it may be a little bit cheaper, but you get what you pay for I guess. 2 bikes down within 1 year.

I We've owned this bike for almost a year now, and while it does the job for the price (on sale sometimes for 149), It has some major drawbacks.

The heart rate monitor being horribly erratic isn't a big problem for me, because I really dont need it. I bought the bike for my girlfriend and ended up using it as well, and I do not use the exercise routines, I just set it to 10 and pedal for a while. The big deal breaker, had I known at the time of purchase, would be the hold down screw for adjusting the distance from the pedals. Whoever decided that using a hard, smooth plastic chunk against a...

Great value for the money and it keeps my wife in shape.

The person who wrote "Do yourself a favor and save up for a better one July 19, 2009" is spot-on correct.  I could have written his/her review, although perhaps not as well.

Pros:  Sturdily built.

          Made by Nordic Track.

Easy access to the seat (important for the handicapped).

Easily adjustable resistance - just push a button.

           Priced right.

Cons:  Heart rate monitor is erratic, if it works at all.  Therefore some of the workout routines are useless.

Most women won't be able to sufficiently...

I wanted a small, basic recumbent bike for the purpose of getting some daily exercise and losing weight and did not want to spend much money.  I wish I had waited.  Here are the main problems with this unit:

1. The console returns wildly different heart rates.  Once in a while they seem like they could be accurate, then a few minutes later, it returns a radically different number.  Without an accurate heart rate, the 4 built-in workouts are useless.  Also, the console is not backlit, like an old LCD calculator, so if you want to read it you will need a light source.  The "shelf for reading...

With all of my years in the Military as a Mechanic, I have gotten used to "Hurry up and Wait" along with Follow The Manual.

That said, I followed the instructions and made sure that all of the parts were present first, then began to read the instruction booklet. Next I began the assembly of this present for my father.

I wanted him to have a nice recumbant bicycle to use on days that it is raining or inconvenient to get a road bike out and ride. He loves to ride every day if possible.

This Pro Form 10.8x was relatively easy to assemble it took me about two hours and again, YES I did read the directions...

only had it a day, but extremely happy

For my birthday I wanted an exercise bike. My husband wanted to use it too and has a bad back so we went for a recumbent. After looking online for the $250 and less models we decided on this one. We went to our local Sears store so we could look at it and ask questions. I had read the comment on the power adapter to save batteries being $90, so that concerned me a little bit, but the store had one for $20 and the bike was on sale for $219 so the combination of the two plus tax was $254 and change. Perfect for my budget. We brought it home around 10 am and it was together and we were testing it... read full review »

I'd buy it again

Searched the web for a recumbent bike and chose this one for the price and reviews. It did take an afternoon to assemble, but with patience and another person to help, all went well. I like the quiet, smooth ride. There's even a small shelf to place reading material. I haven't had it long enough to try all the workout levels, but plenty of buttons for others to play with. Lots of more expensive models, but this one does the trick for me to keep in shape.
