We purchased the ProForm XP 185 U Upright Exercise Bike a couple months ago. My hubby is very good at putting things together. Putting this bike together took him longer than he expected & in a couple instances, he needed a second pair of hands to help him out. Getting the straps on the pedals was tough. I had to help him out with that & it took me a while. However, everything he needed was included, no parts were missing. We also purchased an AC adapter to use with this bike so we wouldn't have to buy batteries.
My husband was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. A Cleveland Clinic...
read full review »I like this bike better than the ones at the gym. The seat is not as comfortable as I had hoped, but is still more comfortable than hard plastic. My son and his friend put the bike together for me in less than an hour. Only problem they ran into was not being able to get the "cover" for the right front leg to fit flush. Because of this, when I am going at very fast speeds, the bike "rocks" a bit.
The pre-programmed workouts are okay, but I find that I burn more calories by just doing my "own thing" in the same amount of time. However, I would recommend these workouts for beginners. ...
read full review »My wife and I were feeling guilty about watching TV and vegging out. I looked at several brands of stationary bikes and liked this ones features and price. Assembly wasn't complicated but took some time. The footprint is compact but mostly the action is competely noiseless - perfect for use while watching TV. It's also easy to roll out of the way when needed. If you are alone or not handy with tools, get a friend to help - offer a glass or two of wine and you'll both be happy with the outcome.
In short we really like it, love the quiet and convenience, the ease of changing load levels...
read full review »This bike seat is so uncomfortable. I have used a pillow and a towel and nothing makes it any better. I believe it is how the seat is sewn together. It kills the inside of my thighs and I am 5'2" and it is too tall for me even with the seat all the way down. Sold it after having it 1 week and will NEVER buy another bike from ProForm!!
I love going to the gym, but for those times I didn't want to drive over, we decided to get an exercise bike for our home. The bike is comfortable & a great workout!!!!
I was really excited about this bike - simple, comfy seat, and compact size. It worked great until a huge rattling sound came out of the base with every pedal stroke, like the magnet and bearings were all out of whack. It felt like the bike was going into convulsions. I opened up the base and couldn't find anything obviously wrong. When I called the repair hotline, I learned that the warranty on the bike had just expired. Maybe this is an isolated incident, but I would think carefully about purchasing one of these bikes if you plan on riding regularly. If you're looking for a piece...
read full review »i use this bike everytime i'm at my mother-in-law's house. it's not a bad bike. i would say that it's ok. i really like the fact that it's pretty quiet. i use to use a exercise bike that use to be very load. i never really liked to be on that bike very much. so i ended up giving up interest in that bike. now i use this one and i want to keep exercising. which that always is a great plus. i really like the fact of it being very comfortable for me when i sit on it. that really is a big factor to me.
I purchased this bike in August and I've already called to schedule a repair. Hopefully it can't be repaired and I'm going to trade for a better one! I didn't do my homework on this particular model and I wish I had!!! I'm trying to rehab after knee surgery and this isn't the one to buy. The bearings are going out and while you are pedaling the pedals will suddenly freeze. It also makes a loud popping noise when pedialing!!!
This is a great bike. It's not gym-quality, of course, but you can't expect it to be. Takes a few hours to put it together, with the help of someone who's so inclined. A few of the screws for the readout device were too large for the pre-drilled holes, but we were able to fit them in tight enough for the readout to work.
I am not affiliated with any of the ProForm products. I'm simply the owner of the ProForm XP 185 upright bike.
