Great Elliptical for the price

We bought this elliptical on sale for $400. I've always shyed away from the low-mid range ellipticals because of the poor quality and "cheap feel", but after reading many positive reviews for the 160, I thought I would give it a try. For $400 bucks, why not? The setup was fairly easy (I set it up by... read full review »

clunker

I wanted an elliptical for a while now and after reading the reviews I thought I would take a chance on this one, even though there were a few bad reviews. Well, my luck I got one that clunks. The right pedal slips and there is no adjusting it. I tried using it today and got 20 minutes into my workout... read full review »

Excellent

This product is the perfect to use at any time. It was a little hard to put together but is worth every penny.

A great workout

I love this elliptical. It really works you out--a lot more so than the ones I have used at hotels or gyms. I've had it for 8 months now. The only issue has been the "clunky noise" factor. But I just put my headphones on, and I can't hear it. It's actually gotten a little quieter over time. I bought this machine at Sears for just under $600 (on sale) so I can't say if it's worth full price or not. It is definitely worth $600 or $700. I am 5'2, so I just stand towards the front of the pedals. It's a very comfortable stride, and my legs have never looked better. I read some of the reviews about how... read full review »

A clunker

Add me to the many people who experienced an annoying pedal clunk. I bought one which had been returned because of a clunk, was told it had been repaired but it still clunked. A month later I'm still waiting for it to be repaired but have decided to return it after reading about all the other clunk problems people have had.

Don't buy

I bought this and it worked for just over a month. The axle then shifted and it locked the wheel from turning. I called sears and a repair person came out, ordered parts and left. Two weeks later he came back out and had to take the whole thing apart. He said he has no idea how to fix it, sears won't exchange it. So he ordered more parts and left. Now I have to wait another two weeks for the parts to come in and I have no idea if he will be able to fix it when he comes back. This is the biggest waste of $600 ever.

This is a great piece of equipment it is really easy on the knees and lets you continue longer than most ellipticals and definatley tread mills.

Pro-Form XP 160 - Excellent

We have had this machine for over four months and the quality is excellent. I put it together myself with the help of one person. It took about 2 hours to do it. If you have basic hand tools you can put it together as well. We use the machine about twice a week and have had no issues with it. I recommend this one. Watch for it to go on sale and get about $200 off.

Has_CLUNK_Noise

When I bought this machine, the FIRST one had a CLUNK noise on the right pedal. Working with Sears, they exchanged it for another one (SECOND) of the same model. The SECOND one had the same CLUNK noise when I pedal. NOT Happy with the design quality. I went to the store and found that the one on the floor also had the CLUNK Noise. Good Luck with the noise if you decide to buy it.

Nice for the Price

I got this on sale for about $600. I haven't owned this machine for very long but it has great features that can accomodate my needs for weight loss and my weight lifter husband's needs. I have a limited amount of space in my home gym and it does not take up a lot of room. But I am 5' 10" and my head almost touches the ceiling while I use it so take that into consideration if you have low or drop ceilings in your home! There is an annoying clunk as the pedals rotate which is why I only gave it 4 out of 5 stars. I just turn up the radio and try to ignore it. For the price it will suit our needs... read full review »

Would recommend to anyone!

I bought this machine 3 weeks ago from Sears. I love it, its so easy to work with and I love the cross trainer programs. I already had an exercise ball and hand weights that were collecting dust with this machine you can use both exercise ball and hand weights with the different programs this machine offers. I would recommend to anyone. Also very easy to put together, took about 2 hours, which I think is about average for any nice piece of exercise equipment. Machine is very quiet, I can watch tv and work out at the same time. Love it!

squeaky

the first machine i bought made clunk noises. i returned that one and bought another machine. it was making the same noises but this one squeaks too. i like the smoothest of the machine but the noises and squeaks are driving me crazy. the repairman came out and said the noises and squeaks are normal. i am very disappointed with this machine.

5 stars

What a great investment. I had been wanting an elliptical and was really doing some research, trying to find the right machine to meet my needs. When I read the reviews on this machine, I figured what do I have to lose? My boyfriend and I put it together in about an hour and 15 min. The instructions were very easy to follow, and I was really impressed with how the small parts were packaged and marked seperatly, rather than thrown all together in one bag. This machine is very strudy, smooth and quiet. I would highly recommend it.

I Give It 5 Stars!!!!

My husband and I were needing to lose some weight before the dreadful swimsuit season so we decided to buy a cardiovascular machine. We went to Sears and they had this one with a couple of the Nordic Track ones as well. He said the Nordic Track one was the best, but I read all the reviews on them and apparently they are not as good as the sales person was trying to make them out to be. I read the reviews on this elliptical and everyone seemed to enjoy it so we went with this one. We think it is the best investment we ever made! We love all the different programs that it offers and we love the different... read full review »

Quality Equipment

I have researched numerous pieces of fitness equipment in order to find one that provided a good workout without aggravating my knee joints. The fluid motion of the XP 160 allows me to complete my workout without joint pain. The design is compact, durable AND easy to assemble. I completed the assembly in about one hour and 45 minutes. The instructions are thorough and easy to follow. I highly recommend this elliptical for any home gym!
