Most Helpful Favorable Review

I bought the XP 300 so I could work out at home without a spotter. The Smith machine works fine and allows you to lift heavy in safety. It's great for bench presses, incline presses, decline presses, leg lifts and leg curls.

If you want to work out alone and at home this is an ideal system to use. A...

Proform XP300

The machine appears to be a decent piece of workout equipment. However, I have run into a couple problems with the assembly. First the locking bar doesn't fit into the uprights at lower levels. Second, the barbell screw holes are in the wrong place for the weight stops. I have followed the manual to... read full review »

ProForm xp 300 Weight Bench

It is an excellent substitute to the hordes of people at our local gym. We've owned a Pro-Form treadmill for nearly a decade, so we figured we could not go wrong with this home gym. It is, surprisingly, extremely sturdy. We also picked up a couple 25lb. plates, because it didn't come with any and we already had 35lb. and 45lb. plates at home already. Post-installation, we were very pleased. Our only minor complaint is that the bar is a bit sticky at times when using the benchpress. Otherwise, it's a great well-rounded machine for someone who enjoys the convenience of a home multi-gym apparatus.... read full review »

"Works Good For The Money"

This machine is very smooth (I use 3m oil spray on moving parts) and sturdy. I've been using it for about 2 months now. *GOOD value!.....The only thing I have notice with this machine is that if is not place on a "perfectly leveled & hard surface" it may wobble easily specially the bench press that comes with it since the front leg has no support on the sides. The legs extensions & curls don't have a good quality patting and if you place weights over 60lbs. the bench goes from one side to the other & you'll fill the hard piece of metal inside the cheap patting after a few minutes. They could... read full review »

Good, But a little hard

Very nice. I was getting too strong for my spotter and the built-in ones work great. I have a few problems: 1, like someone else said the bench is a little wobbly with weight on it. 2, It is harder (dont know about you but for me) to bench weight on this, With my old weight bench (free weights NO guides/spotters/etc..) i was bench pressing 140lbs, when i got this i could only bench 100 (40lbs less). i dont know why, does anyone else have this problem? (I think it's because the angle of the guides, instead of straight up and down you are forced to puch it up at an angle). MAKE SURE YOU OIL THE GUIDES... read full review »

Minor Problems

Overall the XP 300 seems like a great product. However, I had a couple of 'minor problems' during assembly. One piece had a 1" X 1" chunk of paint missing, one parts kit shorted me one washer, and one of the hole locations on the bottom plate was in the wrong spot and had to be re-drilled by hand. Besides a little touch-up paint, finding a washer, and drilling the bottom plate - the assembly was overall pretty manageable, and I completed it without any assistance. The exercise chart included with the machine is GREAT!! It lists almost 40 different exercises that can be done - and there are... read full review »

XP300 Review

Overall, I'm very satisfied with the XP300. It's not in the same league as equipment you'll find at your local gym, however, it's a good buy for the money and you can get pretty much the same workout plus having the convenience of doing it in your own home. I bought it onsale off of the webiste for $299 and then had to buy 320 lbs worth of free weights for about $100. Assembly can be a little time consuming, but can be done with 1 person, I think it took ~3-4 hours to complete. So far the only complaint I have is that the two guides on the smith machine don't slide as well as they should. ... read full review »

proform xp 300 smith, wow! nice!

We have a proform eliptical and treadmill, so I knew I could not go wrong with this smith machine, even after read all the reviews and opinions, people were so wrong. This thing is great. I have only had it over a week and have already gained so much on my bench press. It takes out some of the balance work, so you can pack on the weight!! This is now my 5th bench system I have purchased in 5yrs. i have wanted a machine like this, but were always too expensive. This was so resonable. I have worked out now few times a week for about 16 yrs. now. I"m no god, but its all about to change NOW! with this... read full review »

Excellence buy for the price

We purchased this as a present for my son. It is very durable. I feel much safer letting him use weights with this machine. It's actually become a great weight machine for the whole family.

Go Pro

I had been using the gym sets before and it feels great to work out to work on my muscles. I used it at school long time ago and Uncle Tim have the weight sets and it was different and I enjoy working out using the weight sets. Good Overall

I just purchased this machine, and I am impressed with it as a whole. It seems to operate smoothly, but as you up the weight poundage you use, such as in doing bench press or squats it becomes a little shakey. I do not no if this is because my machine sits on carpet or not. It is a great machine for the average weight lifter.
