Nice, but...

My wife purchased this machine and found that it works smoothly but the pulse sensor doesn't work properly.  The indicated pulse rate will show 130, the then drop to 65, then jump to 110, etc.  Since it is still under warranty we had a Sears technician check it out but, without testing it himself,...

Almost no resistance

I read the reviews before purchasing the bike, noting that one reviewer claimed this bike did not have enough resistance. I chose to ignore this, thinking that the reviewer was probably much more into exercise than myself--I have barely exercised in the past 10 years or so. After assembling the bike,...

ProForm XP XP 400R Recumbent Exercise Bike Reviews

I just used this bike for the first time. I bought it in the store. I assembled it in about 90 minutes by myself (I'm a single gal weigh about 270). I also bought the iFit level 1 card for $35. I plug it in expecting to hear Jillian Michael's voice. Nada. She was completely silent through the 30 minutes. After chatting with Sears and speaking to Sears online and on the phone, they were worthless. I was advised in chat to call ProForm. They informed me this bike is not compatible with the audio for the iFit card. So basically you pay $35 for a card that really doesn't do anything else... read full review »

Bought the Proform 400R Recumbent Bike, great bike..Sturdy.. Easy to put together..Was happy I bought it..I only thing I find is that the lowest resistance is still very difficult.. Maybe I am out of shape..But also feel that even just using this bike for 5 minutes I work up a great sweat and rapid heartbeat..Compared to a treadmill I was using for 40 minutes..Love the bike..My goal is to get to 20 minutes a day..Would definitely recommend this bike also like that my husband can use it also..

Except for the fact that I needed to buy batteries to view the LED I am very pleased with the integrity of this equipment.

We looked at a few different exercise bikes before buying this one, and we are glad we chose this model.  Great workout, and not hard on the joints.

Great bike great price.

Hello I got this several months ago it was easy to assemble of course my son did it for me, lol easy to use he uses it more than i do. but it works great. they only thing i don't like about it is the fact that it makes a sound when you are riding it. i think that the flywheel in it is a little to close to something because i can just move the handle bars to the right and the sounds stops then it is quiet as can be. that is the only con i can see with it but I love it and I ride it several times a day. I also got it on sale when makes it an even better deal. Thanks to my local sears for ordering it...

good value

I have had the bike 3 weeks and have used it at least 5 days per week.  I am pleased with its smoothness and how quiet it is. I chose this bike because the seat adjustment was similar to a car, unlike another well known brand whose knob adjustment came off in my hand.  I do have three complaints.  I have trouble getting my heart rate to register, the seat could use more padding, and I thought their advertisement of the IFIT technology is misleading since you have to order the cards extra.  It would make sense to include at least one.

Great value

Bike was easy to put together. Instructions are very clear, parts are labeled well. All the nut and bolts are set-up in a cardboard holder that neatly separates all the small parts along with a "map" of the layout of the parts for reference. Took me just over an hour to put it together by myself. If I had another person to help it would probably take 40-45 minutes.

We've had the bike set-up now for 2 days. Has worked perfectly, action is smooth and quiet. The various workout options offered as nice, including workouts geared toward specific calorie burn goals (such as 200 calories burned). You...

Not enough resistance

The bike is well built and runs very smooth. But I ended up returning the unit because the resistance was simply not high enough. It goes up to level 10, which is obviously not easy, but not really challenging either. I feel that the MAX level for any bike should be very hard otherwise after daily use you will lose that ability to really push yourself. I ended up buying a Schwinn S23 which costs more money, but had a MUCH higher resistance level. The pro-form is a great bike for someone who is maybe not in the best shape, or may be a little older in age. But if you are looking for a challenge... read full review »

No deal

I got one and used it all the time about 3-4 times a week. Rigth before the 90days was up it started making a grinding sound. We returned it and got a replacement the replacement screen was broken and it had the same grinding sound. I was a really nice bike but after the second one we returned it for our money. Just too much of a pain in the butt.

Good Quality

I have used exercise bikes for years. I bought this one for a friend and took about 2 hours to unpack, carry piece by piece upstairs, and to assemble. Very well built and definitely should wait for the sale price of 299 (reg. 399) it goes on and off sale continuously. So far so good, hopefully it lasts.

I had sat on a couple other recumbents at Sears before I arrived at the ProForm XP.  What I really liked about the ProForm was the comfort of the seat and the ease of how to move the seat forward and back.  Myself, I'm 6'1 330lbs and my wife is 4'9", so the bike I was looking for needed to be able to fit both of us and the ProForm delivers.  Actually, this bike can accommodate people with longer legs than mine.  The other day I actually had to move the seat forward a bit as my achilles started hurting because I was extended too far back and I initially didn't have the seat as far back as it...

Okay...i bought this bike 2 weeks ago. It was easy to assemble. I looked online first prior to buying the bike and watched the video that was a demo of its performance. I purchased the ifit card also. Now to get to the point...when i watched the video it said it had all these great features..the video also said LISTEN while Jullian Michaels coach you through each workout. Stop right "HEAR."...The video is misleading..you can not HEAR anything when you use the ifit card on the bike because there is no audio. So, the video sample of the product is misleading. DO NOT BY THE IFIT CARD FOR THIS...
