LockedSide-by-side light stays on.

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so how was it resolved.

Went for a "midnight snack" and when I closed the door I noticed that the light was still on, could see it aroung the gaskets. Waited several minutes and it did not go out,  opened the doors and was hit with a blast of HOT air,  these lights get REALLY hot.  Removed both light bulbs, Refrigerator seems to still function ok.

(might help on a diet, can't see what's in there)

There is a light relay on the main board that is sticking and keeping the light on.

The repair includes changing the Light Harness Assembly and the Main PCB (Control Board).

You should call for service 1-800-4-MY-HOME to have this done. Your model and serial number are included on the latest revision of the list for a free repair.

Private message me if you need more details.

Repair here told me my Ser # (I checked, and yes it was the same one I gave you.) was not on the list for repair.  Oh Wow!  It's just like the "Ping-Pong" thing on the phone... How fun is that!? Sorry, sarcasim is just too much fun.  I just changed out 3 capacitors for my 32" Insigina LCD TV (from will not turn on to working again, for $5.06), I suppose I can fix a refigerator and if not, well it was broke to begin with.  Sorry... too much fun.

Tried to smow here today, I guess I was having too much fun, it went somewhere else.

I have this same problem.  My husband called the 1-800-4-my-home number today and did not get anywhere with them.  He explained about the discussion board and free repair for certain serial numbered units and she told him they do not give free repairs.   My Serial # is 701MRNE22247, can you help ?

Hi.  I have the same problem and Sears is saying that there is no problem and that I have to have service come out (on my dime) and then the tech can tell me if there is a "service flash".  I'm angry that this is on a Sears website and no one is trying to do anything about it.  I have model 795.77543600 and S/N 611KR00161.  What options do I have (other than paying for a manufacturers defect)?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi---I commented on another discussion and I have the exact same problem--and was told the exact same thing. Any help with repair (or legal options--I hear there may be a class action lawsuit brewing from a firm in Nashville) would be appreciated.

Serial numbers up to 704KR***** for your model (795.77543600) are included on the list of models that require a new light socket harness assembly and PCB (board).

I have the same problem.  Sears refuses to help.  My model # is 79577312601.  Some of the worst costomer service I have ever dealt with.  I have always bought my appliances and tools from Sears, but no more.  I am done with Sears and everthing associated with them.

I keep a Flashlight on top of my frig... but there's nothing wrong with it. Defects NEVER occur in manufactured products so "there is nothing wrong with it". Good luck, let me know how it goes for you!
