The  refrigerator side don't get cold anymore, what can be the problem

Could be a fan, thermostat, blockage in the vents from freezer to fridge...I suggest calling 800 4 MY HOME (469 4663) to schedule a visit from a Sears repair technician. If it's worth fixing, they'll tell you and give you an estimate. If it's not, they'll tell you and give you a coupon towards getting a new fridge rather than charging you for the trip.

Hi- My refrigerator appears to leak. Water collects on the bottom of the refrigerator and freezes or drains on to the floor.

You may have a damaged door gasket (the rubber seal that goes between the door and the refrigerator cabinet). Humidity from the room is being condensed inside the refrigerator, and then escaping out the bottom. Gaskets are available through Sears PartsDirect if you want to try a DIY fix, or you can call 800 4 MY HOME (469 4663) to schedule a repair visit by a Sears technician.

mine does too.  I have to chip away the block of ice before it drips to the floor.  Is yours a Frigidiare?  I am calling the repair place tomorrow.  I will let you know what happens.

You could have one of two problems: the gasket for the freezer, or the defrosting system. If it's the seal, that's a pretty easy fix. If it's the defrosting system, there's an evaporation pan, a water line, and a condenser that all need to be checked. I suggest having a Sears technician check it out by calling 800 4 MY HOME (469 4663).

I have a Kenmore Elite...freezer was not cooling properly...had a service tech. come out yesterday...he replaced a bad relay...it worked fine until this morning when I noticed everything had thawed out again.  Any idea what could be the problem?

Is the freezer running, but not freezing? Or, is it just off completely?

The freezer is running...it has never stopped running.  The problem is that it will freeze for a while, then suddenly it won't maintain a freezing temperature and everything will start thawing out again.  I have noticed that if I start turning the control knob up & down, it will eventually start freezing again.  I have a technician coming out again this afternoon.  Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Taiwong-

Welcome to MySears!  That sounds like a serious problem with your refrigerator.  Maybe you should call a repair technician?  The number of Sears Home Service is:  1-800-4-MY-HOME.  They are very reasonable for a service call.

Good Luck!

I like this 3 dr. Referidgerator but I want it to have another Door lets say a Four Door.  One in front of the Right front door, smaller though just for drinks so you don't have to keep opening the refer just to get a drink.  I have a 2 Dr. with a drink door and it is greate.  Does KENMORE, or someone make a French Door Refer with a drink door?

I have a Sears side by side with ice/water dispense through the door.  I noticed that a buildup a fine powder-like ice has built up on the back wall of the freezer, food is thawing out, and the refrigerator side is not as cold.  Any idea what the problem could be?

That is a GE Profile-exclusive design. The refrigerator is manufactured for GE by Samsung, and is a very good appliance, though the door does present potential issues with seals and heat invasion.

As with so many things, it depends. First, check the troubleshooting section in the user manual. That will probably have the answer. I've never heard of the water not working but the ice maker working. Usually, if anything, it's the other way around.

THE FREEZER DID NOT DEFROST.  I REPLACE THE TIMER AND THEMO. KNOW THE FREEZER DOES DEFROST BUT DOES NOT GET THAT COLD AND WILL FREEZE SOME PRODUCTS.  THE ICE MAKER WILL NOT MAKE SOLID ICE AND CUBE CONTAINER COLLECTS WATER?

i purchase a kenmore regrigerator in may 2004 model #253.74874901. 5 1/2 yrs later refrigerator section is not cooling. i call the sears repairman and he says that the  evaporator motor needed to be replace and wanted to charge $353.00 to fix it. i think that is a rip-off. this refrigerator should have lasted longer than 5 yrs.i only paid $450.00 for it on sale.
