Repair Service —

I have been waiting for nearly 3 weeks for parts for my TV to come in after the repairman had been out to determine that my 2.5 month old 50" HDTV had to have a panel replacement. Well, the panel came in and the technician called to set up an appointment. He said he would schedule it for Friday afternoon and would make my appointment the last one of the day so that I would be able to help him with gettin the TV back on the wall after the repair. I got a call left on my answering machine this morning (Friday) while I was in a meeting at work saying they were ready to come work on my TV. I tried to return the call but no one ever ansered OR returned my messages. I came home at the original time that they were supossed to be coming and they never showed. I called the 1-800-4-MY-HOME number and talked to a useless operator that basically claimed that I was lying about having an afternoon appointment and claimed that I had missed my morning appointment and had asked to reschedule it. I explained that I had tried to contact them without anyone calling me back. The only thing she offered was to schedule another appointment for Monday or the next Friday. I asked that she have the service person be there first thing Monday morning but she would only give me the standard answer of "it will be sometime between 8am and noon". Well, I don't know many working people that can afford to take off a half a day in the hopes that someone will actually show up. If they happen to call me at a time when I don't have a meeting it will require me to drive 40 miles to meet up with them and get this taken care of. I might as well been talking to a brick wall since this person was not interested in helping out but did have the company manual memorized and was not budging. The next time I need to find somewhere else to by my electronics like Best Buy! And I thought that I had gone with the best available when I bought my TV at Sears. Based on the other ratings left for the Sears Services it doesn't look like I am alone. Stay away from Sears Service if you want to be treated like a real person!

Have the same problem in my part of Wi. also. I will never buy another Sear product that has to have a service plan for the warranty. The service people who do the work when they get around to getting there are great. Its the Sears service program that is the problem!!!
