I tried calling 1-800-4-MYHOME to schedule repair service on a Kenmore washing machine. My local yellow pages has a large ad for Sears appliance repair which says they offer Saturday and evening appointments as well as weekdays in 4-hour windows. I spoke with two different operators over the phone and was told each time that in my area they only offer Monday, Wednesday, and Friday appointments from 9-5 in 8-hour windows. I can arrange to be at home to meet a repairman on most Tuesdays and Thursdays, but given my work schedule it's not at all possible on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and really who could take off an entire 8-hour day to sit at home waiting for someone to arrive? Besides, the next available appointment is WEEKS away. A rather useless service all-in-all. Thanks Sears.
