The digital controls do not allow for the cooker to start cooking at a later time. For example, if my recipe says to cook on low for 6 hrs, and I'm going to be gone for 10, I want the food to be done when I get home--not sitting on "warm" for 4 hrs. I prefer a manual control switch that can be placed in the "Low" or "High" position so I can connect the cooker to a lamp timer so it will turn on when I want it to.
I have not had good luck with this crockpot. I had an old crockpot forever and loved to cook with it. After purchasing this one, it seemed to burn everything (on low) even with me following the recipes exactly. I called the company and they graciously sent me a new one and it does the same thing. The other day I cooked something on high (following recipe exactly) and it wasn't done. It burns on low and doesn't cook quick enough on high....hmmmm....never had this problem with a crockpot. Anyone else have this problem with this crockpot????
We too had an older crock pot (from the '70s) which worked great for years. When it came tome for a new one we got the DHP-3505.
As stated by another reviewer, this unit burns everything. Unforthunately we don't have the box nor receipt, so a return is not possible. Bummer.
