Amazing Results

With my first use only,I was completely satisfied with this Iron. Its great auto steam makes mine and my husband's clothes pressed so well as if they had been done professionally.Saves my dry cleaning bills. The self cleaning system and anti-calcium system makes its quality last forever.I would not trade...

Most Helpful Critical Review

I have read good and bad reviews for this iron. After owning mine for three months, I would like to add my experience. While not an amazing iron- as in, it doesn't seem to heat as fast as irons I have had in the past- it works just fine for the price tag. I haven't had an issue with the steam leaking...

Not Effective

This iron, for it to be 1600W, it does not get hot even at the highest setting. The temperature doesn't stay constant. It steams well, but that's all. I starch and press a lot of dress shirts and the wrinkles don't completely come out and the shirts are always wet. I always have a Rowenta 1400W and Sunbeam 1400W iron in my house. The Sunbeam does a better job than this one and it is my low-end priced iron.

Stay Away!

This is the greatest iron in the world when it works. I recv'd it as a Christmas gift in 2006 ~ it far exceeded my expectations then. The auto steam was the best. Now, for no apparent reason, it automatically shuts off after about 10 seconds of use. The only way to restore power is to unplug and plug in again Time for the trash!!!! Is there no way to override the auto shutoff?

Disappointed

I purchased my Rowenta Effective about 18 months ago. When it works, it works great. However, I am having a problem when the iron reaches the proper temperature and cycles off, it will not cycle back on. If I unplug it and plug it back in, it will turn back on. But even that is not working so well anymore. I think my mother owned the same iron her entire adult life, what happened to those days??

Bad iron, bad iron

My one star rating is way to good for this iron that I have owned for a little over a year. It really hasn't had much use but I recently started a quilting project. Just a few days later the only thing hot coming out of it was the water leaking from the sole plate. Then the iron quit heating completely. I am greatly dissapointed in Rowenta quality and reliability and see from other opinions that the rest of their line isn't any better. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THESE IRONS!!!!

poor quality

just bought this iron yesterday, after 1st use steam control switch does not work, returning this item today, very dissapointed, had my previous iron for over 10yrs - no problems, going back to that brand. My suggestion - stay away from this product!

UNRELIABLE PRODUCT - STAY AWAY

I have the same problem with the auto-shutoff as the first reviewer on sears.com (PKO3602). Bought this in Aug'07. The autoshutoff started kicking in even when the iron was in use. Suddenly during use, iron shuts off and red light begins to blink. Only way to restart - switch on and off OR bang it down hard sideways on the ironing board (gentle shaking side-to-side - recoomended in the manual doesn't work). Then 1-2 minutes later - same problem again. Returned to sears and go a replacement in Sept'07. Autoshutoff broke again again in May'08. Out of 90 days return/replace policy - so Sears won't... read full review »

That Iron

The steam works like a cleaners. The problem is I had to take it back because it didn't work the 3rd time. I exchanged it for the same iron and it work the way it should. It would be your last iron you will buy. The steam gets the wrinkles out great.

Rowenta Effective Iron

This is the best iron in the world. I know you may think it is expensive, but the quality that you get is absolutely wonderful. The iron just glides over your clothers and you don't have to iron in one spot very long. The steam last longer and you don't have to worry about any brown water dripping on your clothes from the steam. BEST INVESTMENT EVER!!!!!!!!

Decent choice

This bright coored iron performed pretty well. Takes moderate time to heat up to start using. Steam and ironing basics work well. Slightly on big side that some would prefer. But not portable range to carry with. Depending on the price (some recent sales had this for good price) this could serve the needs well.

Best Iron I've had so far

This iron was a fantastic find and I am greatly pleased with it all the way around. I have not had any problems with it and would definately recommend it to anyone looking for a better, dependable iron.

Rowenta Effective Iron

I sew and quilt alot. This iron is excellent for working with small pieces. It is easy to use and the perfect weight. I love the vertical steam feature when I am in a hurry to iron something for work. I have also given this as a gift.

This iron steams the clothes good but leaks water on occasions. The door that you open to pour water in becomes sprained after a while. It lets water out on your clothing.
