I bought this unit at a great sale price so was willing to accept some minor imperfections.  It is loud but it cools a room reasonably quickly.  My place is fairly well-insulated so I can turn it off after the room is cool and lasts for a while.  It's easy to move and does the job for the price...

This unit i don't even have words for it. We plugged it in and immediately even on LOW it was LOUD REALLY LOUD... not your normal AC loud, after a few seconds more this loud annoying metal banging noise came on, we tried everything to stop it, thinking maybe it was on unlevel ground or what have you....

Not only was I well pleased with the product but the sales guiy was great too. He told me where they were then said let me know if you need help. He didn't bug the **** out of me. When I did call him over he was knowledgeable, courteous, very professional and knew what he was talking about. He told me of less costly options but was careful to point out for the $50 difference he'd go with this one.  I bought it. I was in and out of the store with it in less than 20 minutes.

When I got it home it was really easy to install and ready to go in less than an hour. They recommend waiting 2hours...

Baby it's cold inside!

We were coerced into this particular piece of equipment three days before all "hell broke loose" as far as heat wave in our area . This happened while looking at units remaining in town all over, and the selection at your place was impressive! The rep from Sears told us about this one, and how it may be able to exhaust up the chimney in our ground floor apt. It just so happened that it was also on sale at a very good price!

It was a nice security thing for us and yes, the exhaust was easily forced up the chimney by using a couple of quick ties...The machine worked like an ice box at a ball park...

Royal Sovereign portable air conditioner works very well for apartments with restrictions on installing window units. It was very easy to install. It only took 2 hours to cool a single room 5 degrees. Its been a very good choice.

I love my new air conditioner it cools my entire home in less than an hour.

Bought this right before the first big heatwave of summer '09 in Portland, OR (thank you 10 day trend for the warning!).  The unit is very heavy (about 70 lbs) and I had to leave it in my car when I got home and have my husband help me get it in the house later.  It has wheels on it so once you get it out of the box and upright it is 'portable', but it wouldn't be possible for me to take this up and down stairs by myself, my husband could manage it though.

The plastic bit you put in the window to vent the unit is a bit cheesy, and because one part slides inside the other part to make it adjustable,...

Had this Royal sovereign A/C unit for a month and used it gently about 10 times.   By gently, I mean only at night and in conjunction with our home A/C.  It worked great and then one night, kaboom!!!!  Something blew up inside the unit and spit it out the exhaust hose.  Now it is just junk!!!!  We live in Colorado, where it is not super hot or super humid.  This unit should have run for years and now we are putting it out to pasture.  What a waste of money!  Buyer beware!

We moved to a hot apartment in May 2010 and soon purchased a Royal sovereign Portable AirConditioner from Sears item #04274902000, Mfr. model #ARP1000ES.  The air conditioner was immediately satisfying (more so than ice cream!), operating quickly, quietly and looking quite nice in our main living area.  My husband snores less, I sleep better and the cost to run the unit is affordable.  Go Sears !!

AWESOME A/C

I AM A SINGLE WOMAN WHO INSTALLED THIS MYSELF-IN THE WINDOW, ETC. I DON'T MOVE IT AROUND AS IT'S HEAVY EVEN THOUGH IT'S ON WHEELS. I ACTUALLY USE IT IN MY LIVING ROOM IN CONJUNCTION WITH MY CENTRAL A/C DURING THE MIDST OF SUMMER IN SO CAL. I'VE HAD IT ABOUT A YEAR AND IT CONTINUALLY WORKS GREAT. I LIVE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, AND IT IS BASICALLY HOT ALL YEAR ROUND. THE AIR STAYS COOL. ONLY ISSUE IS THAT MY ELECTRIC BILL GOES UP AS I DON'T THINK IT'S ENERGY EFFICIENT. OTHERWISE, IT'S GREAT. TIMER IS GREAT. I CAN FALL ASLEEP TO IT FOR AN HOUR.

Window bracket is junk -

The unit itself works well for cooling. The flimsy window bracket is a piece of junk. It is plastic and it is to be put together with little sheet metal screws. I had to tape it together last summer and be very careful to not move the unit or the screws would strip out of the plastic. It is hard to believe that a company would build a fine product like this and then fall down on the job so badly with a plastic window insert. I just taped it into my window today to see if I can get through the summer with it again. You cannot use the unit "without" the window ventilator.

This is a powerful unit, that can be easily moved to whatever room in the house it is needed. This is THE unit to get if there are limitations put on the appearance of your building (like an apartment) because, other than the plastic window plate allowing the unit to exhaust heat, there is no external presence from this model Air Conditioner.

Found R2-D2?

I just moved in this old 4 bedroom house in DC with friends. 2 Girls and 2 guys... The girls wanted to upstairs rooms as did the other guy.  I took the basement bedroom (much larger space) I was so happy! Private area, my own bathroom. Win Win!

It was spring time, the night were always nice and cool! However now that summer is here, the wonderful downstairs oasis was becoming a nasty, muggy, hot nightmare!

I was regretting the room choice!!!

I was thinking of sleeping in the living room every night... Then the most amazing discovery happened...

On one of my random rummaging in the small rooms in...

AC unit is totally unsatisfactory

The Royal Sovereign AC unit that I bought was a piece of junk. It broke down after only 6 months of actual use. Because I did not use it during the Winter, when it broke down the following Spring, the manufacturer would not honor the 1 year warranty. I had it for over a calendar year, but had only used it for 6 months. It has been at a repairshop for 2 months, awaiting parts. I would never buy another Royal Sovereign product.

Great Product!!

I used this product in my attic, as my attic is finished. Worked very well. Cooled the room 10-15 degrees depending upon the temperature. I used to not even go upstairs on a hot day because it would be unbearable, but now my upstairs is livable!! Couldn't live without this product, great work guys...
