This is our 1ST fridge we ever bought to go along with our 1st home that we also bought. My husband and I are EXTREMELY happy and satisfied with this refrigerator. We have guest that comes into our home every weekend and we get so much compliment on the look, style, and the amazing capacity inside the freezer and fridge. We chose this product because its very convenient for us that host tons of parties and not have to worry about a thing. read full review »I looked at a bunch of french-door bottom-freezer refrigerators when I rehabbed my kitchen, and I kept coming back to this one. Things I love: the smooth front with the water and ice on the inside, the configuration and adjustability of the shelves, the size of crisper drawers, deli drawer, and door bins, and the extra sliding shelf at the top of the freezer compartment. I went with the platinum finish and I love it too -- all other appliances are stainless and I wondered if it would look weird, but it fits right in. We have had our Samsung refrigerator for just over 6 months now. It is obvious that the versatility of the shelves is great and there is plenty of room for various sizes of containers in the refrigerator. That I knew that we would like but I didn't realize how much we would like the bottom freezer and other features. The bottom freezer is 100% more versatile than the one with our old side by side unit. read full review »I've only had the Samsung RF266ABPN for a little less than a week, but I want to review it before I forget the particulars. First off, I want to say that this is rated as one of the top ones in the consumer report, and the price was $650 less than the Kenmore Elite 7759 I was considering, so it's a no-brainer. (Both units are on sale now and are similar in features and capacity, although this is bigger.) Furthermore, the Kenmore brand is really a Whirlpool product, but since Whirlpool has bought Maytag (which I have one with annual failures), I figure this would not run the risk of my buying...
read full review »We purchased our 596 in 2006. We loved it... UNTIL... the compressor went out in 2009 (a compressor goes out on a 3 year old "elite" fridge?).... and now, in 2010, the WHOLE FRIDGE has gone bad.... FORTUNATELY for us, it failed just before the end of the 5 year warantee, othewise we would have ben SOL.... Again, this is a Kenmore "elite". NOT the kind of quality I would have expected.
I've owned this fridge since 04/2009 and absolutely love it! The water dispenser inside is a great feature- myself and the kids drink more water (bonus!). I adore the slide-out freezer and the extra slide-out shelf in it. Makes tons of ice very quickly. Just remember to shut the ice maker off when the bin is full. Like other reviewers have commented, you don't hear the ice drop- it's extrememly quite. The french door desing is great for larger items (deli platters, pizza boxes, etc.). My kids left one of the doors open a tiny crack and the chime went off very quickly- great feature...
read full review »Always expecting at least 10 years from a fridge, I haven't seen Samsung as a supplier of this appliance for very long. I did see some great (and some not so great) reviews. I decided to pursue anyway since besides their typical 1 year warranty they also include 5 years complete coverage on the sealed cooling unit which includes the compressor, defrost, condensor and evaporator (the mechanical guts).
