We've had our Samsung washer for about a year now, and we're happy that we bought it. We picked this model mostly because we needed a new washer and this one was nice looking, front-loading, and we could get the matching dryer as well. This model has a lot of "features" and I have to say that I probably have not even tried half of them yet. This washer is not as quiet as the last washer I had, and even the quickest wash cycle is not nearly as fast as the last washer I had. When you select a cycle type (e.g., "Delicates," "Quick Wash," or "Towels") the display will show a time (e.g.,...
read full review »We purchased the washer and dryer pair about 2 weeks ago. The washer does not spin the water out of the clothes if there are more then 4 or 5 items in it. I have tried repeated extra spin cycles but we believe there is a problem with the machine trying to balance the load. If there are too many clothes it gives up. The clothes must be manually rung out. We have had repair guys here but they only test with limited amount of articles and rinse/spin cycle which does not reproduce the problem. We are taking it back.
We purchased our set from Sears with a manufacturing date of 01.31.10.
I was a bit nervous about selecting these machines to purchase after reading a few complaints (overall, there weren't too many) about clothes not being cleaned, an occasional mechanics problem requiring resolution, noise, etc. and had decided the machines were either 'love it' or 'hate it.' I took the plunge anyhow and am so thrilled I did!
After owning the machines for a brief time, I can proclaim I'm definitely in the 'LOVE IT!' camp! Further, without wishing to offend anyone, I will even imply people who are in the...
I don't understand all the negative reviews...maybe I am just easy to please, but this machine is great! The controls are so easy to use - I don't see pressing a power button to be such a huge inconvenience as some other reviewers. There are lots of features so you can completely customize how you want your laundry washed. I have a newborn daughter, and it has gotten all of her laundry completely clean, which is simply amazing to me, since I don't have to pre-treat anything. She has very sensitive skin, so the fewer chemicals that I use in her laundry, the better. In our old washer, we...

Bought the washer/dryer set and the washer has been a real pain from day 1. Had to have a service call on it right after we purchased it. It was something minor and I don't even remember what it was for. Then when it was about 3 months old it became noisey when in the drain mode. I called for service and the service rep said that all front loaders make that loud vibrating noise. My laundry room is on the second floor of my house and I told him that it was so noisey that it disrupted watching TV downstairs and it didn't do that when new. My floor is re-enforced and I can't even hear the...
read full review »We bought the SamSung VRT Steam washer and dryer combo last fall. It took a little getting used to the longer cycles and front loading, but what a wonderful machine!! If you have really soiled clothing or bedding... or just need your items santized, then this is the machine for you!! I've never seen my clothes come out so clean!! There isn't anything this machine can't whiten or brighten with the steam technology. And if you don't have time for the longer steam cycle, the you'll be thoroughly impressed with the silver care which does a wonderful job cleaning clothes with colder temps. ...
read full review »I love this washer for the most part. It has a great number of useful cycles including steam function which is a necessary component for those with allergies. Large items fit well in the machine. I just wish there were a soak function as some difficult stains still do not come out. I resort to soaking these items in the sink instead.
I really hate this machine. I have had this machine for about 9 months now. I dread doing laundry because I am afraid of what this washing machine will do to my clothes. The detergent tray is poorly designed. The liquid soap goes in right away. If you are not careful when closing the tray, the bleach and fabric softener will go into the clothes even before the cycle starts. The water doesn't seem to come out hot, even on the hottest settings. When the water is filling it all comes right down the door and into the drain.
Stains do not come out in the washer. I pretreat EVERYTHING...
read full review »After six months of use, this washer and its companion dryer work OK; however, I would not buy them again because the controls on both the washer and dryer are poorly designed and difficult to use and the manual is of little help.
For example, the manual says that the "pause" button can be pressed after the washer has started, and when the display indicates more clothes can be added, the door can be opened. That seemed to work fine until I added clothes (a couple of minutes after starting the machine) that were too delicate for the sterilize cycle underway, so I changed the cycle to normal before...

This is the greatest appliance I have ever used. I think of it as the iPhone of washing machines - it is elegant, efficient, seamless to operate and is exceptionally powerful. I can't say enough good about this machine and the matching dryer.
Our laundry area is very near the kitchen and family room of our house so noise is a big concern. These are nearly silent - we actually enjoy the end of cycle chimes (remind us of old video game tunes).
That said, be sure to account for the extra space needed off the back to connect the Y adapter for the steam dryer. That added 2 inches to the back in our...
read full review »Admittedly, I have only owned this unit for a short time, but I am very happy with the features, energy usage, styling and most everything about the machine. After doing considerable research on the internet and asking salespeople from various stores, I found the most positive reviews were about Samsung. To this point, I believe they shot me straight. I guess only time will tell on long term reliability, but my clothes are very clean and come out with very little water remaining in them. The projected energy usage is almost as low as you can go and it looks wonderful. I did buy the pedestals...
