Bought this set November 2009, set delivery for January but pushed it off to March as we remodeled our house. The set has worked great up to today October 2010. Dryer stopped dead. Make a loud rumbling sound, finished cycle and loaded next load. Unit will not start. Just got off the phone with Sears service is scheduled for Tuesday (today is Sunday). So Far I am a happy camper! I do need to find out if my warranty prior starts at the day of purchase or delivery! I may not be so happy
This is my first time ever writing a review for a product but this washer has forced me to. We purchased this washer September 2009 and it has required every part to be replaced since then. The first service call 1 week after sears delivered it began walking and dancing in our laundry room. The service guy came out and of course he blamed it on the fact that we were on a crawl space. It took 2 or 3 more service calls before a guy came out and finally fixed it and we didn't see it dancing anymore. A couple months later the washer began to leak so we called sears repair and he found the leak he said and...
read full review »I was hesitant to buy this machine after reading some of the reviews here. However, through a process of elimination I ended up buying it and I am very happy so far. First, let me address the criticisms that nearly put me off purchasing the machine:
1. A cycle takes too long. When I use the regular wash on "light soil" it takes 55 minutes, the same as my old top loader but the clothes are appreciably cleaner and dryer. If I increase to medium soil it adds 10 minutes to the cycle time for a total of 65 minutes. I have not needed to use medium soil even though I have 6 year-old twins who...
read full review »We purchased this washer based on the great reviews, however there is a very significant defect that we have noticed in all three (yes 3) of our exchanges. The first washer seemed to work well for a few months (we loved it) until one day we noticed our clothes were soaking wet at the end of the cycle. After looking a little closer, we noticed the normal wash cycle would stop at 8 minutes and jump to 11 minutes, thus turning on the rinse cycle again. As a result, the clothes do not spin properly and come out soaked. In addition, none of our loads on the "normal Setting" were ever the 52...
read full review »Couldn't pass this up at the sale price it was being offered at. So far, so good. The Sears delivery guys were friendly and efficient, and took the time to go over the basics of the machine. AND they were actually on time!
The machine is extremely quiet and very easy to operate. One feature I like is that is shows how much time is left in the cycle. My only complaint is that even on the loudest setting, I can't hear the buzzer from upstairs (the machine is in the basement), where I could on my old washer. But given all the other positives, I'm not too concerned about that, since it...
read full review »Already making me a very happy person! I have only had the set 1 day and have done about 4 loads so far. My previous washer was loud and would shake my entire house when on the spin cycle. This washer is quiet and doesn't create an earthquake when on spin. Which in my opinion is worth every penny! The controls are easy to use, fancy but not complicated. The dryer is very efficient and boy does it put off some heat, when the guys were here installing they tested the dryer and it set off my smoke alarm it got so hot! Which they say is normal when you first get it hooked up since then no more alarms...
read full review »Just bought this 3 days ago. It washes great and is super quiet if that is a needed feature. Switched from top loader that had issues with washing bulky items and would dance around the basement floor with almost every load. This washer is basically set it and forget. No more resetting clothes or worrying about balance issues. This washer has lots of settings and does a fantastic job with cleaning. Great buy for front load washer.
We bought this washer a few months ago. It is simply the best washer I've ever used! My clothes have never been so clean - even washing them on the shorter cycle using cold water they come out great. We have really challenged this washer - I use cloth diapers for my toddler, and believe me nothing tests your washer's cleaning capacity like a few dozen dirty diapers. With my old washer, sometimes I had to run it twice to get them all the way clean. This washer makes it simple, and the diapers always come out looking and smelling great. I also love the sanitize cycle - helps get rid of diaper rash...
read full review »So far so good, we have only had the washer/dryer set for 3 weeks. I do wipe down the washer after each use and so far have not had any issues with a musty smell.
The only problems we have had have been while dealing with Sears - from the delivery guys damaged the edge of a sink while installing the washer and then tried to cover it up - to the poor attitudes at the no-Customer Service Department.. Will definetely recommend buying the Samsung washer/dryer again but not from Sears!
I researched front-load washers about a year ago, figured out that I wanted the Samsung, but wasn't ready to spend the money. Finally Black Friday brought me a deal I could not resist at Sears. So whether I love this machine because I waited so long for it, or because I want to think I got a great buy, I can't deny, but it is a great machine. Here's what I love:
It is so quiet! I stare through the window looking for the water because I don't hear anything. And there's no bouncing, shaking, etc. Of course loads don't get un-balanced in a front-loader so that helps.
The clothes get really...
read full review »After doing the obligatory and necessary appliance shopping when our 15-year old Maytag died about a month ago, we settled on this Samsung model (paired with the dryer). I must admit, at first I was skeptical, "how could such little water clean all those clothes?" I asked. Well, it does. This machine is amazing! It does everything you tell it to do - with diligence. According to the manual, it uses 50 liters of water to do an entire load - rinse and all. If it needs more water, it senses it and adds more. According to the yellow tag that comes with the machine, it uses 11% of the energy required...
read full review »Right off the bat we had problems with the spin cycle. It gets to 11 minutes left and then it just sits there like it can't decide what to do next. Then it spins real slow in one direction and then the other. Then it tries to spin faster but peters out. It will do that for about a half an hour and then says the load is done but the clothes are still soaked. Had the repai man out but it still doesn't work. It's outta here :) Otherwise it was great!
I bought this washer dryer combo because of the price in Nov, 2008, due to volume of sales I didn't get it until Jan 2009. Between the time I bought it and got it, my daughter and 3 month old grandson had moved in with us. I never dreamed my new appliances would get the use they have this year. When the deliver men brought it they refused to hook up the washer (long story not product related) so when my husband got home he hooked it up. I had read stories about other front load washers that had a horrible vibration and walked across the floor to the point the customer returned the product. ...
read full review »I've had this washer since Feb. 14th. I have washed all types of clothing and bathroom rugs. It got everything really clean, is very quiet, and has almost no vibration. This is important since it is on the second floor of the house. I did get the pedestal and am really happy I did. I recommend this washer without reservation. It even does a great job with the delicate cycle.
