First I have to say that this is an excellent washing machine. Second I need to caution you before you buy it that 1. You need a solid floor (IE. concrete) below this machine. The reason is that the spin cycle is lighting quick. The manual states you should reinforce the floor below this machine, but... review »

Replaced my Kenmore front loader with this Samsung only because I needed a new dryer and I wanted to stack the units. I am very dissapointed with both. My husband and I run a bed and breakfast and were looking for the prefect washer/dryer set. It is located in a utility room that doubles as our office so it had to be quit. I read all of the reveiws (was going to purchase the 4.7 Electrolux but the salesman recommend against it). I decided to go ahead and try the Samsung since everyone seemed to love it and I knew that if I hated it, I could return or exchange it because of Sears awesome return policy. Love the Samsung Front Load Washer/Dryer...awesome product! Quiet, very low vibration, in 2nd floor laundry room with interior walls. Like the other reviews, we too (first) bought the LG Front Load 4.5 cu. ft Freight Train/Jet Engine Blast / House Rocking units...and returned them to Sears for the AWESOME Samsung Steam Washer/Dryer. Sears of Keene NH was great in accommodating us...and did the swap. The Samsung units are quality machines....quiet, excellent performance. Buy it!

My husband and I purchased this laundry pair after having a terrible experience with the new LG 4.5 cubic foot capacity pair. The Sales Rep had sold us on the LG after asking if we had any brand preference. We had a good track record with our LG electronics, so we figured the appliances would have the same quality. We were terribly disappointed! Our laundry room is on the first floor, right off our living room. We have two toddlers who nap on the couch during the afternoon, the LG was like a freight train running through our house! I love this washing machine. It cleans great and is very quiet! I haven't noticed an issue with the musty smell that we had with our old front-loader. I'm glad I read a review and got the larger version - it is perfect for our big family and for comforters.

My husband & I did allot of searching for a new washer & dryer with a good price we ended up buying the samsung 4.5 washer & gas dryer the steam set. I figure this is our last set we will ever buy I wanted something nice & I can trust that would last a long time. I just love it so much. Very quiet. I love it when its done it has like a chime music thing that goes off just a sharp set all the way around. We have owned this washer for a couple months and it is a wonderful product. Clothes come out smelling fresh and spun out. reduced drying times over our last washer which was also a front loader. Make sure you leave the door open after use and dry out the door grommet for longer life, mildew and mold avoidance etc that are prone with ALL front loaders, especially here in Florida. This washer is loaded with settings and options and while we haven't used them all it has performed flawlessly. "After carefully researching washers and dryers for months, I decided to purchase this Samsung VRT steam washer and the matching Samsung Steam dryer." I have had these machines for a month or so and all I can say is WOW. The washing machine is easy to use and with the VRT technology extremely quiet. I love having having all of the various cycles and options which allow my clothes to come out smelling fresher and with less water. We did a lot of research on front loaders before purchasing this Samsung 4.5 front loader. It was a decision between LG and Samsung. We chose Samsung and we are happy with our purchase. This front loader is amazing. Your clothes comes out very clean. We also like the Silver Feature and the steam function. Keep in mind that most front loader will have longer washing times as opposed to the traditional top load washers, but it does have a quick wash that runs around 35-38 minutes. This was to be our first experience with a front loader. Did a lot of research, and initially ordered an LG model. Was very clear after a couple of days that it wouldn't work out, as washer shook quite excessively during spin cycles. Our floor was not the problem, as directly below washer was an "I" beam supporting the floor joists. Further research drew us to this Samsung model. The VRT technology sounded promising, regarding the shaking we encountered with the LG. To make this story short, the washer, in all aspects, operates very well. We bought these machines about a month ago. We do about 3 to 4 loads aday. every peice of clothes come out very clean. these machines have been great. Extremlly quiet!! Our water bill dropped by 20$ and elcectric also dropped by 15$. they are well worth the money we spent on them. We are a little disapointed in the dryer. not much different than our old high capsity Kenmore. the steam refresh only works with a couple peices of clothing. the other con is long wash time. a quick wash is still 35min. however you get to put alot more in. just our opinion. we love them.

I had bought top of the line LG front-loader. Leveled it to a gnat's behind. Tried to wash 8 dress shirts and I thought it was literally going to shake itself to pieces. The vibration was horrible, and it was on a sturdy first floor on an outside wall. It sounded like a helicopter and shook the house. After 9 days, I sent it back and bought this Samsung. VRT rocks! It really works. The washer is very quiet, plus it's feature-rich and does a great job washing my clothes.

I have had just about every brand of washer/dryer over the years, but this is my new and absolute favorite. My laundry room is on the second floor over my kitchen and my old pair (miele) made the glassware and shelves shake. The motion of the spin cycle on the Samsung is almost not noticeable. Everything from the beautiful pewter finish to the great little beeps to let you know the wash is done makes these the perfect laundry room addition. I purchased the larger of the units and have found it key to saving time and money on water, etc. I have gas with the dryer and it will get a full load done... review »

Buy this if have 2nd floor laundry room

Have a 2nd floor laundry room above garage. Wanted to get rid of top load washer which shook the house on spin cycle and try a front loader. Was a little concerned though after reading a lot of reviews warning of high spin speeds with front loaders causing vibration on second floor laundry. After much research read on consumer reports the Samsung VRT had the best scores for vibration. Then read many reviews online that this washer was performing well on second floor with little vibration. Have had this washer for a few weeks and I am amazed how quiet it is.
