Samsung - 46 in. (Diagonal) Class 1080p 120 Hz LED HD Television —
I just purchased this television from Sears, and it is amazing! I have it hooked up to my Pioneer 7.1 Surround Sound, and I would rather stay at home and rent a movie than go to the theatre and deal with the sticky floors. This tv replaced my old Magnavox 1080i 30" widescreen tube tv. It was a major upgrade! Went to ********, they had it for the same price, but thier warrenty was **** compared to Sears. Buy the warrenty, This is an excellent television, standard LCD and Plasma are not even in the same category. If your going to spend $1600+ protect it, Sears warrenty is bumper to bumper, so it covers everything (except if little Jonny knocks it over). Plus after 5 years when your warrenty is up they will let you extend it, and if your tv breaks and they can't fix it, or find a part, they will give you full purchase price towards a tv of equal or greater value (Geek squad eat your heart out!) The picture is so supperb, the money I paid for it was well worth every penny.
Question: 60hz, 120hz, or 240hz? Well I would go with the 120 for the price and the picture quality is so close the 240. the average joe could go with the 60, but for you and me who want the best.... Depends what your into I use mine for playing Xbox 360 and watching blue-ray, so the 120 is an ideal choice. For the sports nut the 240 is the best. It your still into regular dvds just get an upconverted dvd player (with HDMI) and get the 60. HDMI is the key, the picture is only as good as the cables you use.
Fall asleep watching this tv? It will turn off automatically after about 30 min( with a dvd) and will shut off my surround sound and blue-ray player as well. Way to go Samsung saving energy. Plus everyone knows heat kills electronics, my xbox 360 died because of heat (Microsoft fixed it for free), I had a dvd player and reciever die as well. Always give enough air space for your electronics, Never set anything on your receiver (the slots are there for a reason). Anyway I am getting to the point.... LED Televions create far less heat than plamas and LCD's thats why LED tv's are so thin, and the life span is alot longer.
