I'm waiting on delivery of my new 46in LED samsung 1080.
I did not own a tv before and just watched a few movies and shows on my parents sd tvs. I work for a major sat company and decided I wanted to get a new TV. Since I'm not paying a couple hundred dollars for a brand new sd tv I decided I would not settle for anything less than full 1080 glorious hd.
I had already purchased a 46in lcd 1080 when I came back into the store to ask a question on the warranty with my friend. I came back in a different way and then I saw this LED tv and it was AWESOME. Even in the store with non-hd sources the picture was brilliant and very very smooth.
My new one is the 120hz, and while I wish they had the 46 in LED with 249hz available I honestly don't think I will notice too much of a difference. I want to hook mine up so I can play WOW on it along with other computer games and that my sister can use her Wii. I am in the process of getting HD receivers from Dish with either the Turbo HD packs or the gold HD&platinum HD together. And I'll be using only the HDMI connections to keep the best picture possible.
After reading reviews about the Luxia series and they don't the best sound in the world because of their size (I can understand that in a tv that thin) I found another deal at Sears.
They had the display Sony 5.1 5-disc changer wireless surround sound system with a Sub-Woofer and I believe it was 4 speakers (could be 5 or even 6) for $147, and since it had been a display I went ahead and got the warranty for a total with taxes of $233.
With the new tv stand I think I'm pretty much set. Originally I didn't want to spend over 1,000 but I look for the long term value and I guess at the end of the day I went with the philosophy "great value or go home"
