I was looking for a TV to put into a second bedroom in our vacation home in Florida. The room would be used for children as well as adults. I wanted a set that the kids could easily hook up their games and this set is perfect. Very nice picture and sound quality. Outputs in front and back very easy to... review »

This TV is not recommended for connection to an analog cable box because the TV must convert the analog signal to digital before displaying the actual picture on the TV screen. This extra processing step results in a "lag" which creates a "slight blur" during scene changes and/or movement (e.g. people... review »

Our old 27" CRT Sony TV was over 10 years old, and the picture was starting to darken (irksome during dark scenes). We couldn't afford an equivalent size HDTV, and were not convinced that the viewing experience was truly superior--certainly not enough to justify the $500 price difference. I picked out the Sansui 27" SDTV based on a Google search, and picked it up at the local Sears store (saving a lot on shipping). Setup was a cinch--just transferred the main cable and DVD player wires from the old to the new TV. The set is heavy--maybe 50lbs--but once in place that's not an issue. After about... review »

I would have rather had a 60 inch big screen, but I was not willing to pay the price. The picture is not perfect, but for the price it is great! Easy to hook up. Good pic, good sound and updated for the digital change in the near future. Overall I'm ecstatic with my purchase. I could have bought better, but would have paid an outrageous price.

I purchased this for my senior parents when their old 27" console TV failed. They wanted a traditional replacement. I was reluctant to buy this when I could see the obvious difference in picture definition when it was sitting next to the high definition LCDS at the store. I realized that it actually has a good picture when I got it home and hooked it up. I could see a definite improved picture quality over all the other older tube type TVs in the family. The digital tuner is excellent at pulling in the broadcast channels that are near the end of their range using a rooftop antenna. It is doing... review »

I read that people don't like this and they don't like that about this tv. For the money it is great. My picture is good. The sound quality is good, but better through my surround. A few minor adjustments were needed out of the box, but other than that it was fine. If you don't want a flat screen, then don't be forced into buying one. I am buying another just to put away for a later date. at 230.00 you can't beat it.

This is a nice TV especially if you want a hook up and go version. It has a nice big screen and the sound is good. It is also great with all the plugs being in the front it made it easy to hook in all the kids games. The only drawback I saw is after purchasing this one I found it cheaper at another store which apparently had just got it in. Tube TV's are really getting hard to find!

I have been looking for another tube tv for a while. It's been very difficult to find one. I can't afford the plasma/lcd tv's. I found this one and it is great! Great picture quality and sound. The price is great! My husband had it set up and running in no time. I was actually waiting to purchase one from wal-mart, but it's not been in stock. It was also cheaper at sears. So, give this tv a try if you're on a budget!

In my humble opinion the Sansui 27 in CRT set is great, I have had this set for almost a year, and it has been trouble free. I have two Sansui sets one for my collection of movies and cable, and the other as a security monitor. I would recommend this set as a Christmas gift.

Absolutely SPECTACULAR. Wish I could give it 10 stars on a 5 star scale. Unbelievable bargain! Superb picture - great color, great clarity, truly HD-like. I have 2 HD TVs (a 73" top of the line Mitsubishi and a 42" Samsung DLP) and several others, so I know a great picture when I see one. REGARDLESS OF PRICE this has a great picture and good sound and fine features. Even the zoom looks great with no pixelation or any degradation. If you took the Sansui name off and put SONY or PIONEER on it, everyone would refer to this TV as an example as to why Sony or PIONEER are the best. Can't say enough that... review »

My mid-80's 25" Zenith console finally gave out and I wanted an interim TV until the LCD/LED/Plasma/720/1080/i/p format becomes a bit more standard. This $230 unit fills the need, and does a fairly good job. I do miss the auto color adjust of my old Zenith as this unit does not automatically adjust pix color or sound level between channels. Red colors seem to be almost fluorescent, and attempts to soften them have not been successful. Full screen pictures suffer a definite linearity problem, resulting in elongated faces, exaggerated hights, etc. But overall, the set is well worth the $230 cost.... review »
