“Great All Around Bike”
Schwinn M Searcher 26 Inch Men's Road Bike —
Schwinn is trying to make a come-back from the throws of Bankruptcy. They are doing it with offering a quality product at a fair and competitive price. They are entering into the upscale market by offering Mountain Bikes and a cross over with their Comfort Bike. The Searcher is such a Bike. My favorites have always been the Beach Crusers, but I was attracted to the Searcher first by the frame construction with light weight materials beefed up for strength. The Handcrafted Men's Hi-Ten Steel Comfort Frame makes for a lightweight and yet very strong frame under you. The SR Suntour M2000 Suspension Fork Absorbs Road Bumps and gives a very stable feel to riding along with comfort and absorbtion of less than stable road conditions. The 7 Speed Shimano Drive Train w/ SRAM Grip Shifter for Smooth Shifting is really all you need unless you have entered into the Tour de France and your name is Armstrong, then you might want to consider adding a few gears as well as thinner tires. The Schwinn Riser Handlebar w/ Adjustable Stem is really quite an improvement in looks with it's polished aluminum instead of a chrome pipe bent at a few sections. The Front & Rear Alloy Linear Pull Brakes really does stop on a dime and gives you nine cents change. It is one of the best stopping distances that I have encountered. Overall, the bike is an incrediable buy for the money. I have test drove a $1,100 mountain Bike that did not have the performance, the comfort and the response that the Schwinn Searcher has. If I had a choice between the searcher and a more expensive Bike, I would go with the Searcher and did. I love the Bike. I purchased a second one for when friends and family show up at the house, I can offer for them to take a spin. Great Bike !!!!!Schwinn M Searcher 26 Inch Men's Road Bike
