“Quality, not here.”
I went into the Sear Hardware looking at lawn mowers. I bought their middle-of-the-road one. I returned it a week later and this is why...
Initially, the Sears store tried to sell me a warranty at the store. I figured I didn't need it since my old Craftsman had to be near 15 years old. My Dad has one, my brother has one, I have one...all lasting years. Never would I think to get the warranty, so I declined. The store person looked at me kinda funny, but I ignored it.
After I returned it a week later, I was asked if I wanted another one. I looked, but when I saw the many other lawn mowers on the showroom that had been returned and discounted, I knew there was a problem.
What's happened to the Craftman name? I had bought a leaf blower a year ago and it floods and can't be use for an hour afterwards. My co-workers have been seeing the quality go down as well. Is it the store handling of its products or is it the product? I think the store knows there is a problem with the craftman quality and pushes the warranty...because you will need it.
