That delivery fee should be flat on the order, no matter how many appliances are ordered. This isn't even about the associate, the register rings it that way.
HOWEVER, if you have an inexperienced associate, who does not know how to "link saleschecks", then that will happen, as certain divisions cannot be ordered on the same ticket.
I believe this is the issue, and you should mention this to the department lead, or the manager as it is an incorrect way (separately, w/o linking the checks) to ring the purchases.
Depending on the type of Sears store, there may be a small additional fee for each appliance of ten to twenty dollars, but those amounts usually are the maximum.
If the appliances are all over $399.00, they should qualify for a rebate.
