Has anyone had any expierience with this item?  None of them has been rated yet and I was just wondering because I am very hard on my boots.  I will be needing a new pair by the end of the season and they are right in my price range.

Hi jeeperpilot, I've actually heard that these boots are amazingly tough and long-lasting.

Come on MySears members, I'm SURE you have something to share about Craftsman Work Boots! Let's hear!

They're made by Red Wings, which is legendary for making good boots. There's a new Craftsman boot made with recycled tires for the soles. Pretty cool. There are boots with composite toes (lightweight but protective), steel toes (protective but heavier), and soft toes. I'd have some myself, but my ankles aren't big enough to allow most models to be comfortable (I usually need the 8" boots). They're really good, though, and you get a Craftsman Club discount most of the time, too!

And, "any" product labelled Craftsman "counts" for Craftsman Reward Points.

Yeh!

Done already bought the ANSI 75 rated, composite-toe tipped half boots, they are lighter.

The Catepillar steel-tipped "Sneakers" still win the contest though.

The Catepillar black-grey-yellow shoes didn't meet Sears dress code, and I worked in the warehouse (requiring steel tipped footwear).

So... I painted the shoes with black spray paint.

:)

True story.

There's more than one way to...

That's a really "sick" saying!

Mmm...

They don't really take "polish" very well, though.

I would definitely try the Craftsman Work Boots.  We stand behind them as Craftsman is a Sears brand, so if you have any issues, you can just return them to the store.

If you're going to be "working" outside in them, some form of water-proofing would be a good thing to do.

I prefer mink oil to silicone spray.

It takes a while for the mink oil to really work into the leather and the polish to take hold of the boot, but, the waterproofing is better than a surface coating treatment.

I am pretty hard on my work boots. My work as HVAC Testing and Commisioning engineer puts some hard mileage on a pair of shoes not to mention exposure to chemicals, oil and other hazzards. I had used Crafstman boots for years ( usually because I get a good deal on them on sale ) Any boot that I get more then six months out of is a good boot in my book

I got over three years out of my old Army boots.

One of them was actually a Mason's Footwear full-height steel-tipped pair of boots.

The U.S. Army wouldn't sell me Army Corps of Engineers full-height boots and only offered cut-off (literally) half-boots.

I think I've still got them Army half boots, after having paid a shoe-maker to turn and sew-up the cut edges of the half-boots.

The Air-born Ranger boots were the best ones to spit-polish, for inspections.

DieHard work boots are good. I'm hard on work boots and I get a year out of them

been using  Craftsman Mens Composite Toe Workboots for years and years,  best boot i've ever had.    Having trouble finding them now.........

Both Craftsman and DieHard work boots are very durable work boots.  We appreciate the positive feedback.  We do currently carry on Sears.com item #84998 which is the Craftsman composite toe hiker in dark brown.  The regular retail is $95.00, and we currently are running an extra $15 off $75 or more shoe purchase.

I have spoken to Workboot buyer and here are her comments.

Craftsman comp boot -84996-  we are discontinuing because of lack of demand.  We have a new Comp that has additional feature, 84998, it's green because the sole are made of recycled tires...we think they would be an excellent choice.

Also, an excellent choice and highest customer approval is 84994 Craftsman Soft Toe Boot.

What a great idea-a Workboot that has a green aspect.  So many people that use those boots will appreciate that added bonus.

If you order that boot, or any other shoe over $49 right now, it will be available for free shipping until Dec. 17th!

Sorry to be the "naysayer" on this one, but, I swear by a brand called "Rocky".

They are quite durable when cared for, I use mink oil, and have what they call a "floating heel".

Wearing these boots is more comfortable than a pair of Nike's.

Everyone has their own favorite brand!  We also carry Rocky on Sears.com, so please feel free to take a look at what we carry.

Hey, worldweary, what is a floating heel?  Is this the aspect of those particular boots that makes them your favorite, or are there other things that make them so appealing?

It is particular to Rocky brand boots, as far as I know.

So many people are gung ho for Red Wing boots, Thom McAn, the inexpensive brands we sell in shoe mart, or even Timberland, but I've worn them all in the course of the past eighteen years, and Rocky has the most comfortable boot I have ever walked or run in.

I actually wear them INSTEAD of my LiveStrong black and gold Nike sneakers at times.  When I go hiking on the local trails, Rocky is what I wear, along with wool socks to help with the tick issue we have out here.

The floating heel is similar in principal to a gel insole, and really does an incredible job when it comes to shock absorption, and comfort.  It also extends across the arch of your foot, lending a hand toward arch support.

I have been reviewing Craftsman footwear. Did I miss the one that interest you? I have been wearing ONLY KMart footwear since 2004, before that I was not able to walk. So I am very good at helping you find shoes. And SO are those wonderful associates.

I'll give you a prime example of why I love my boots. Took a moonlight walk the other night, it's just incredible to see the world in a different light, and the whole excursion was like walking on clouds.

To those who wear Craftsman boots-how do they hold up in the winter snow?  Do your feet get wet, or stay pretty dry?

I make a point of applying water-proofing compound to the seam areas between the side of the boots and the soles.

This is where a lot of moisture can wick in, around a damp, leaf filled property area.

Living in California, I don't have a lot of "snow" experience with the Craftsman work boots.

I do remember the stuff, very well, from my early-days in New England.

My feet stayed wet in rainy weather while wearing the boots. They are, however, the most supportive boot i have found. People with mobility issues have been known to rely on them for support, proprioception and TRACTION in rain!

A GREAT accessory for any work boot is the Craftsman selection of work "socks".

They have some very good models available, that can really adjust the way your work boots fit and work with you, during your chores.

Sadly, there is no Craftsman logo to be found on the socks, once the packaging is removed.

However, you know... they're Craftsman.

Thank you Adam! Not much water gets in, but it's enough. I want to try these socks. Could i get them at Searsor KMart?

These would make a great present (maybe paired with Craftsman socks!) for someone this year.  These boots are on super sale from now until the 21st.  Regular price-$95.00 reduced to $59.99:

I've been trying to purchase the Craftsman Mens Composite Toe Workboot (#84996) for a few weeks now and can not find it in stock anywhere.  I've tried ALL my local Sears, Kmart and even online.  They have been out of stock for quite some time now.  Does anyone have any further info on this boot or know where else I can purchase them??

Those are some high quality boots, Josie68.  Have you tried the Personal Shopper option on Sears.com.  They may be able to help.  Here is a link:
