LockedDoes anyone else have the Dr. Sholl's Fitness Walkers?

I recently got a pair of the Dr. Scholl's Fitness Walkers.  I figured they would be great for walking the dogs (when the snow melts), running errands, etc.  At first they were a little tough to get to used to because of the rocker-bottom, but I love these shoes!  Just wearing them for the day doing my normal errands my calves and hamstrings were tired and sore.  I can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can wear them more often when walking the dogs.

Does anyone else have these or another pair of toning shoes?

I do not, but have been quite interested in them.  They do seem like the perfect shoe to wear for picking the kids up from school, and running them around town!

Hey Dr. Scholls Have Really Steped Thier Game Up.  I Worked C-Mart Part Time And We Had Gotten Some of Thier Over Flow.  You Could Not Tell That They Were Dr. Scholls By Looking.  I Love Dr. Shcolls Boots.

I had tried the Skechers Shape-ups and they weren't quite wide enough for me. I recently got a pair of the Dr. Scholl's Fitness Walkers (white) and ordered a 1/2 size bigger and bought the Wide. I think they must run about true to size because they are too wide and a little too long. I did wear them around the house and love them! I am going to now place an order in the correct size. I would recommend them. I hope they're easy to drive in.

Sorry to hear the shoes you were ordered were too big, but glad to hear you like them and will reorder the correct size.

Like I previously mentioned, I wear them on the weekends running around doing my errands and they are no different to drive in than any other shoes.

After you wear them for a bit, make sure you write a review and happy toning!

Excellent Darlene!  I'm not sure about additional colors and styles yet, but if you are looking for another pair, check back frequently because they occasionally go on sale!

You should also write a review - it may help other people who are considering a purchase.

I just bought 2 pairs of Dr.Scholls fitness walkers one pair in white leather and the other a gray mesh with blue trim...I love both pairs. It felt odd at first being a bit higher off the ground but within an hour I was used to them and I feel great. I walk 5-9 miles a day. These shoes were less expensive then the Skeechers but they do the same thing and the price was better.Remember Dr.Scholls has been around and making shoes a lot longer than most shoe companies along with their product line so I trust them and LOVE my new sneaks..fitness walkers.

I'm so glad you like them!  Good for you for walking 5-9 miles per day.  I'm waiting for the weather (and snow to melt) around here to get better so I can start walking my dogs in my Fitness Walkers rather than winter boots!

Do you walk on a treadmill?  I'm curious how that is with the shoes.

I researched quite a few brands, of which Sketchers was just one, and everyones' feedback is very accurate:  Scholls brand is very economical, comparatively.  There are a couple questions which (probably because of the newness of this "rocker" design) the Sears sales associate couldn't answer.  The breakdown of the liner layer of foam inside the shoe's last is the main reason that most models of exercise shoes...whether walking, jogging, or work-out, don't feel comfortable over the long haul.  In some makes of  "rocker" shoe, the pitch is that the inner layer is either gel-filled or has some unique material.  Whether the variation in the shoe construction (among different brands) helps to explain the WIDE PRICE RANGE, I don't know.  I'm wary of a sales campaign that leans heavily on being the "cheapest out there."

On the other hand, there are several good comments being submitted by folks who have bought and tried out the Scholls model:  good fit, comfort, feeling of working out those leg muscles.  Can anyone respond to the construction comparison issue?

Hello, I bought a pair in the gray and purple and I LOVE THEM!!!  I am an LMT and stand all day and they are great for that. I also walk in them and BOY you can tell a difference. Its like walking on foam. Thank you Dr. Scholls for putting out something competitive with sketchers. These do not ROCK as much as sketchers, so that may be better fo those of you that experience the motion sickness with the others. The only thing I would ask Dr. Scholls to look at and improve is better arch support, it seems with these shoes that your legs sort of lean inward (evert the feet) which can put torque on your outer knee. You have to work to keep yourself straight up on them, which Hey could be an additional workout. BUT my hip and knee pain is much better. SO??? Get some.. try them around the house, if you hate them, send them back, sears is good about that. What have you got to loose? Well except maybe inches :-)  Namaste

I have the Dr. Scholl's fitness walkers.  I love them!  My mother got a pair when they first came out and were 49.99.  She wanted to get me a pair and when we went they had gone up and were 69.99.  They are back on sale now for 49.99 at Sears and she went back yesterday and they gave her the 20 dollar difference.   am going to get my daughter a pair today.  I like these because they are not heavy like the Skeechers.

I hope you get a pair on sale and enjoy them as much as we do!

Hello,

I got my pair two weeks ago, my mom too.  Within the first 30 minutes of wearing them, I almost fell because my ankle moved inwards.  It was especaially easy because of the "rocker bottom" design.  Right away, I told my elderly mother NOT to wear them.  She stopped, but wore them to work last week.  Needless to say, she fell down at work.  Her ankle turned inward and she fell, hit her head and shoulder on a door, then fell to her knees.  Thanfully she's fine.  I took her to the ER and tests were done.

Just a warning to people who wear them.  I still wear mine, but I'm much more steady on my feet, but I still can't help but wonder if the same will happen to me.  IMO, these shoes should be wider at the bottom sole to keep from wobbling.j

Just thought I'd share my story.

Peace!!!

Does anybody who owns these also have to put orthotics in them? Is the heel cup deep enough to hold an orthotic? I'm also a bit concerned that with an orthotic, the "rocker" portion will put too much pressure on my arch. Any thoughts?

These shoes (rocking) are designed to strengthen your core muscles (abs) and hamstrings. These muscles are strengthened as they work to balance an eliminate the wobble.

As your muscles get stronger, the wobbling goes away but if you know you're muscles are weak to start, you should be careful as you acclimate to the shoes.

Thanks so much for everyone's comments . . . I have been debating if I want to try them or not! I walk in my job and have been debating if they are worth the money! They are on sale again for $49.99 so I just might go for it!

I bought a pair of Dr Scholls fitness walkers.  WOW I love them.  Does anyone but Sears sell them?

Sears has them on sale for $49.00 till 11 March so get some.

I have had my shoes for a few months and wear them everywhere.  Even to my Zumba exercise class.  Unless you really look for the tab or logo you can not tell them from Sketchers.  My sister tried on both and likes these better.  Its been quite rainy here in GA and my walking track (well mowed path) on my farm had been too wet.  Have problems with swelling and pain in my heal and ball of my foot but since wearing these have had not problems.  Rocker on bottom keep pressure off both.  They do run true to size.  I usually have to get a size 10 but got 9 1/2 in these.  I have narrow feet so the reg one fits good.  Sister got wide and they are just right.

I also have 2 pair of the fitness walkers by Dr. Sholl"s and love them.  They have a great wide toe box, fit true to size & my back & feet no longer bother me after standing for  8 hrs. at work.  For anyone even thinking about these shoes you cant go wrong.  They are cheaper  than MBT's or sketchers & every bit as comfortable if not better.  I plan on buying  my third pair  soon just for walking.  They are great.

I'm so excited to see all the positive responses.  What I really want to know is, how do you use them?  Are you a mall walker, dog walker, running errands, on a treadmill, etc.

The Dr. Scholl's Fitness Walkers are exclusive to Sears right now for just a few months. After that they will be available at other retailers. (I work for Dr. Scholl's.)
