I bought this mower last August because my Cub Cadet rear wheel drive push mower died. I looked at the Toro, John Deere, and many other similar mowers, but when I saw this online, I had to check it out. The Snapper name really caught my interest because I know they are reliable. I love the key start, and the ease of changing from discharge to mulch to bag. The fresh start fuel cap is neat too. I also think that the fact that you don't have to prime it is cool. All you have to do is fill it with gas and turn the key! The rear wheel drive is very powerful, and gets me up my steep backyard hill quicklty.... review »

A real bargain at $380. Started on first pull out of the box. Bag is easy to empty and no grass sprays out around the edges. Just a touch of the key start and it starts right up. Thought I wanted a front wheel drive to mow around bushes and trees, but rear wheel drive is just as good. That is because the variable speed control is easy to operate. Just let up on the lever to disengage the drive and it is easy to mow around bushes. Fully engaged, this mower flies over the yard really fast. Got finished in record time. Engine does not bog down. One lever height adjuster works great and it stayed locked... review »

It works quite well for the money, I was on a budget. Bagging and suction works great, key start is a nice feature, easily fold up handle, reletively quiet, and seemingly very durable, the self drive is super fast, and fantastic on hills. on a side note... beware of damaged or open boxes. It is almost worth it to take the mower out of the box and look it over before you take it home... recieved two different mowers with broken pieces.

I picked up this mower today. I sat the box on the ground, opened it, pulled the mower out, poured in the oil, poured in some fuel, connected the battery, turned the key, and it started right up. I was effortlessly mowing my yard in under 10 minutes with this mower. It is fully assembled in the box. Just pull it out and set the handle to the height you want.

After returning two defective Husqvarnas this season, I decided to try the Snapper instead and boy did I make the right decision. Although the Husqvarna had the more powerful B&S engine, you wouldn't know it as the Snapper has got to be the fastest mower I've ever used- it actually sped up my mowing time considerably. Squeezing the variable speed lever makes it take off like a shot. It's quite nimble despite being 114 pounds and it feels very substantial (not delicate with plastic parts like many of the Craftsmans). The single lever height adjuster, a must for mowers in my opinion, will never... review »

I replaced my old (15 years) Snapper mower with this one. This mower is awesome, the engine has lots of power and will mow taller grass even when wet without bogging the engine down. I used to dread the first mowinh of spring, my old mower would clog and stall and took a long time to finish. This new Snapper had absolutely no problem. Its starts extremely easy with the pull start and the electric start works well even with only a couple hour charge. If I had to come up with any downside I would say the bag is a little small compared to my old mower, but the bag is easy to empty so its really no... review »

This is the first lawn mower I have purchased that is not a Craftsman and I am thrilled. I charged the battery the night I brought it home and it started immediately when the key was turned. I was a little surprised at how quick the battery lost its charge, but it starts easily with one pull on the rope. The quick height adjuster is a dream come true and I never thought I would like a self-propelled mower but this is a breeze to use. I look forward to using this mower for many years.

My yard is hilly and bumpy, and my grass is thick, wet and grows like a weed. I hate to mow and my old mower would constantly hesitate and putter out (it didn't like the thick/wet grass, and it did not like the hills). But THIS mower is great!! Wonderful! And as a petite woman, I am quite happy with the "key start" (never had one before, and it's so much easier).

I bought my previous Snapper mower in 1982 and it only lasted 27 years, however I decided to take a chance on a new one when I could no longer buy Wisconsin-Robin (Fuji) engine parts to fix the old one. The new one is excellent. It starts immediately, either by key or pull and has all kinds of power and good suction. The single lever height adjustment is a great advance. The choice of bag, mulch or discharge couldn't be simpler and no tools are required. The bag removes, dumps and re-installs much easier than the old one. It also rolls much easier when maneuvering without the drive engaged, undoubtedly... review »

First let me start by saying I bought a Snapper because my father recommended it. He mows his lawn twice a week and has had 2 Snappers in 15+ years. He said the only reason he sold his first was because he was tired of it. He has now had his second for over 7 years. It's obviously not this model but a good testament to the quality of Snapper. Now for my review. I picked up my mower and while starting to unpack it, noticed oil on the deck and cardboard. Then noticed one of the handle fasteners was cracked. Back to Sears. They immediately replaced it. Unpacked the second mower. One screw and bolt... review »

I have done a lot of research looking for a lawn mower. I liked the snapper syle and features. I have never owned a snapper and the best lawn mower I ever had was a Murray about 6 years ago. The features on this lawn mower are great. The engine has enough power to pull you at a fast pace. It will take a little time to get used to the speed of it though. The height adjustment is really good because it zeros in on the right height for your yard. The bag hold a lot of grass and is full before you have to empty it. I contribute that to the way the deck is made which is high in the back and lets the... review »

I took it out of the box and put the oil and gas in and was ready to go. It started easy by key and pull. The one touch hight adjuster is great and it does a great job mowing. It doesn't leave any grass clippings behind either. As others have noted it can be hard to pull it backwards. The only thing is I need to find the adjustment to make the speed adustment less sensitive. The slightest touch and it is going full speed.

I just purchased this mower and am very happy with the unit. It starts on a dime (key or pull). The key start is GREAT for my wife (and me to) it handles tall grass with ease. I was not sure if I would like not having a throttle control, but have gottten use to not having it. I have had no problems with this mower

I ordered this mower after reading the online reviews on this website. I wasn't disappointed either, the mower started on the very first pull of the rope and the variable speed for the self propelled feature is just fantastic! I recommend this mower to anyone wanting to purchase a new walk behind mower.
