Over the years, I have owned many brands of self-propelled mowers, ranging from Ariens, Toro, Lawn Boy, Craftsman, and now Snapper. My last one was a Toro Recycler, which is a fantastic mower that has lasted me 6 years heavy use thus far. I had always heard good things about Snapper mowers, so when I noticed one at whim when shopping for clothes at Sears, I decided to take the plunge since I wanted one. I mulch 99% of the time, so this was also a consideration in going with a Snapper. Toro and Snapper are considered very good mulching mowers. The box this mower came in was not too big. It fit in my VW GTI hatchback with the rear seats folded down, no problem. Setting up the mower was a fast, pleasant, hassle-free experience. NO tools were needed, as the handle folded and snapped into place using turn clamps and spring loaded clips. I added the pre-measured bottle of SAE 30 oil that came with it, filled it with gas, and it started on the FIRST PULL (this engine has no primer bulb or choke)! Adjusting the wheel height was easy as well, since one adjustment controls all 4 wheels! How innovative! At this point, i'm smiling and thinking this is what a new lawn mower experience should be like! Using this fantastic mower is even more of a pleasure. Mulching was a breeze, with no visible clippings left behind, even on moderately high grass. The variable speed throttle control feels nice too, and the mower backs up easily too for added maneuverability when in tight spots that require you to. Operationally and ergonomically, this Snapper is a joy to use, and just as good as the very highly rated (Consumer Reports) Toro Recycler series. Buy with confidence!
