Thanks to all those who take time to write reviews. I can confirm that the many positive reviews of the Snapper 190CC RWD mower are accurate. However, I think it's important to put some perspective around the pros and cons of the mower so that you don't get home with uncalibrated or unrealistic performance expectations. I mulch 15,000 square feet of dense Kentucky bluegrass, 60% flat and 40% hill. Here are the important pros and cons, from my perspective. - Built like a tank and cleary a step above anything Craftsman offers. - But it's heavy. Pay attention to the reviewer that talked about trying to mow up from drainage ditch. If you do that or mow hills, the combination of the weight and RWD is going to give you a fine upper and lower body workout. - Assembles in under 10 minutes and the 1-page instruction sheet is very easy to follow, The 18oz included oil bottle had leaked all over the box which was a hassle. - Starts on first pull everytime and runs quietly, but its no economizer on fuel (1-1/2 tanks for 15,000 square feet). - Pace is fast. It will definitely cut your mowing time, but it will also give you a brisk workout. The reviewer that said it is pretty much one speed is correct. The other reviewer that said the speed control is built for big hands is right, but the handle has a nice, commercial feel to it. - Has the absolute nicest height adjustment of any retail mower that I've seen. One, well-built lever and all wheels adjust. Another huge plus is that the adjustment steps are 1/2 of typical mowers so that you get 10 different steps. - The cut quality is beautiful and engine power is good. I'm not sure what kind of turf the reviewer who said that he cut through 10" grass was mowing or how short he was cutting it. Calibrate your expectations here. If you're mowing properly-irrigated Kentucky Bluegrass you're not going to be taking more than about 1.5 inches of blade without bogging the engine down and leaving grass clippings. This mower is powerful, but it's no bushwacker. Overall, the Snapper 190cc RWD is a steal at $339. I have looked far and wide and have seen nothing that even comes close to the build quality and performance at that price. Just be realistic about the heavy weight of the mower, so-so maneuverability on hills, and its mulching limitations in dense, tall Kentucky bluegrass. If you have those nit-picks in perspective, this is a very satisfying mower.
