Snapper 23 gross HP 42 in. Lawn Tractor —

I bought this last year after my old murray quitt ( 4 years old) believing to get a brand name  what lasts longer. the first tractor who arrived did not move and made a very loud transmission noise, it was exchanged the second arrieved 2 weeks later. there was even a louder transmission noise like a street car.after 2x 1/2 hour mowing the noise did get even worse and then the engine quit. call to manufacturer who advised to bring it to autorized shop after 2 weeks I get them back they say they could not find anythings wrong the noise is normal. after 2x more mowing 1/2 hour the engine startet backfiring and some gasoline did run out of the engine somewhere and did get very hot I could fry a egg on the hood. I checked the sparkplugs they OK checked oil also OK send email to manufacturer again and there advice to bring it in the shop. the first shop was overfilled for weeks but I needed the tractor my grass was allready 12inches high. the second shop had the tractor there for two  weeks because there was something damaged/missing inside the carburator and they had to order this. they also said the noise is so loud on some tractors ( not one of my neighbors sound so) and the heat is normal. finally I got him back this was after only 18hours light use. During cleaning the cutting deck with water I see that pretty much all the screws on the frame are allready rusty. then I used him for another 8x mowing 1/2 hour now after 22 hours the engine would not start at all because the battery was pretty bad, after charging over night the engine would still not start and there I see that gasoline did running out of the muffler and over night there was the whole tank emptied on the gras out of the muffler.

now I have to call the manufacturer again but this time I want a new tractor because from a named manufacturer and for $ 2,000 I believe I can expect a tractor which I can use all the time.

from about 1 year that I had him it was in or waiting for repair half of the time.

I only can say dont let you fool with the name thsi tractor is the worst what I have bought even the old murray did work all the time til the engine blow.

Last year's model was a LT100 not the LT125. The LT100 is essentially a Murray tractor, while the LT125 is a true Snapper. Your comments are directed at an entirely different machine than the one you have reviewed.
