"Precision Spray" nozzle renders Snapper 3100 useless!

I AM
Annoyed Consumer

Snapper 3100 MAX PSI / 2.5 MAX GPM Pressure Washer- CA model —

I purchased a Snapper Model 580.752640 last week as a replacement for my old Sears 2350 pressure washer. The Briggs and Stratton engine started on the first pull. The unit is very transportable and has adequate power. Gas consumption and noise levels are tolerable. The design of the nozzle is a complete failure. On the "General": setting the spray pattern is too wide to effectively clean concrete, stucco, or pool decking.. On the "Maximum" setting the pattern is far too concentrated to provide an efficient cleaning zone. It's like trying to clean a driveway with a lazer beam on the Max setting. I saw this flaw within 60 seconds of operation and was incensed after paying nearly $450.00. I have a very large driveway and 15 rental homes to clean. My garage and storage areas are filled with Craftsman tractors, tools, equipment and accessories. Fortunately I had kept my old pressure washer and the nozzle it contained. The old unit featured a truly adjustable nozzle which passes the spray between 2 parallel plates. These can be precisely adjusted for any application. I simply removed the new (Precision Spray) nozzle and threaded the old one on in its place. Thereafter the machine worked flawlessly. What will I do when the old nozzle finally fails and the new machine is hardly broken in?

In further reviewing your described uses of the pressure washer, our Heavy Duty Turbo wand (item# 071-75123) might better serve you on your described projects. This wand performs very well on concrete & pool decks. If you have any questions or I can be of further assistance, please email me at John.Hanley@searshc.com.
Thank you.

Dear customer, We are sorry that you had a less than satisfactory experience with this pressure washer nozzle on our Snapper unit. I'm on the buying team for this product line and the nozzle was designed to be more beneficial than you described. With the six settings of the wand (Delicate, General, Max, Jet Flush, Jet Soap & Fan Soap), this should give you a few different options depending on what types of jobs you are using it for. Also, because the tips are in the wand, you can just turn & click to select the nozzle/tip; versus the older nozzles, having to take them off and then re-connect. I'm glad you were able to troubleshoot and use your older nozzles/tips for your project, but if I can be of further assistance, please email me at John.Hanley@searshc.com.
Thank you.
