Snapper 675 Series 190cc 21" Briggs & Stratton 3-In-1 Rear Bag Rear Wheel Drive Lawn Mower —
My decision came down to the Craftsman ($299) or the Snapper ($339). I knew I wanted a rear wheel drive self propelled and almost went with the Craftsman based on the cost and because they didn't have the Snapper in stock. I'm really glad I ordered the Snapper model for the following reasons.
Pros:
-Better mower deck quality. The Craftsman mower deck appears to be made of a thinner gauge steel and actually flexed alot when I pushed down on the handle bars. The Snapper is much more sturdy and feels like it will outlast the Craftsman.
-Single lever deck height adjustment makes adjusting the height quick and easy.
-Handle bars adjust high enough to be comfortable. I'm 6'3" and don't have to hunch down at all.
-Easy to set-up out of the box and starts with minimal effort on the pull rope.
-Good on gas, at least compared to my old mower.
-Variable speed control is nice and didn't take long to get used to.
Cons:
-Rear wheels have a tendency to lock up when you pull the machine backwards, but doesn't always happen.
-More expensive then the Craftsman model.but well worth the extra $40.
I've used this mower three times now and actually enjoy mowing the lawn!
