Snapper 675 Series 190cc 21" Briggs & Stratton 3-In-1 Rear Bag Rear Wheel Drive Lawn Mower — 

NOTE: Make sure you read to the end. (The bad stuff is at the end). First, this mower is extremely well constructed--much better than Craftsman mowers--period. The deck is very heavy gauge steel and the hooks that hook the bag to the frame are actually part of one continuous piece of formed steel rod (the bag frame) that is formed into a hook shape. Most other mowers have hooked metal plates welded to either side of the bag top, and they look very flimsy (all Craftsman/Husqvarna mowers, for example). The all-in-one height adjustment feature is fantastic and the lever is not flimsy at all, but very heavy gauge steel, and the mower is very easy to move up and down. NOW, having said all that, here is the bad news: 1) The mower does not sit flat on my (flat) garage floor. It wobbles. Minor point, maybe, but it's annoying and I think it could contribute to an uneven cut. 2) The next flaw--the major one--is that having only owned this mower less than one week, the drive system has started acting up. When I try to go slowly, it "jitters" and bucks badly. Then when I release the drive handle, it won't let me pull the mower backwards. It's like the drive is still engaged? Something is very wrong with this mower. Soooo, it is going back to Sears tomorrow and I will not be buying another one (Snapper or Craftsman).

Why are you shopping at Sears if you have such a dim view of Craftsman quality? I think you generally need to understand more about mower features in general before you post sweeping negative reviews.

The drive mechanism is designed to stay, "in gear" when you release the handle to keep it from rolling back on you. If you push it forward an inch or two this will release and then you can pull it backwards. Takes a little practice but you can get used to releasing the handle before you stop and you'll not even notice this, "feature".
