I had this mower for half of the summer and it has been awesome! The easily adjustable handle is perfect for switching between me (tall) and my wife (not so tall) and likewise is the adjustable speed. The thing is a monster mower chewing up my overgrown lawn again and again.

By the way, I mulch...

Stay Very Far Away From this Machine it is a piece of Junk.....

I bought this mower in August 09 and used it 7 times for normal mowing and took it back to Sears and this mower is a piece of junk. I am awaiting Sears decision on it. The rear wheel drive is broken the rod for bagging is so bent I can't...

Snapper 675 Series 190cc 22" Briggs &... Reviews

I bought this mower based on the general reputation of Snapper and a discounted price of $269...Big Mistake!  I should have done my homework.  Ditto for: 1) wobbly front wheels, 2) front hub covers falling off, 3) loose wheel nuts,     4) rear wheels adjusters frequently coming lose, 5) grass/dirt spraying out of the back, and 6) poor cutting quality in mulch mode.

Aside from sucking gas, the engine starts and runs well.  Best way to sum-up mower deck is cheap parts with poor manufacturing quality.  I definitely have to replace this mower after just two months of weekly use. ...

I have been working on lawnmowers for 40 years and what goes around seem to come back but in a different color. this is a Murray mower that was selling for $159 years ago, a lot of the parts are the same, and just for some more information if it was painted green it would say ********** for $400. This is not the real Snapper that made the name.

I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a front propelled mower 3 in 1. I did a little research looking for a new self propelled lawn mower. I was looking for one that had the 3 in 1 ( mulching, bagging, side discharge), variable speed for ease in walking behind, easy pull start, and at a great price. I use it to mow approximately 2 acres with trees, gardens, and bushes.

Some of the reviews I've read are not true.

A couple people complained that when bag was attached that grass will fly up in your face - I've never had a problem with that. Maybe they didn't have it attached right....

I bought the front drive rear bag Snapper solely based on past Snapper rep. Mower has always started first pull and run well. I used to expend much energy in 100* heat to empty the bagger multiple times with prior brands. This mower mulches so well you will never see a grass trail. Therefore I cannot speak to the bags lifespan as it sits new in the garage. Fire the mower up, cut the grass, hose it off and put it up. It is that simple and efficient with excellent clean finish.

I did have problems with the handle bolts coming loose at the deck mount and by the time I found it, the...

Cheap very poorly made material all around this mower. All cables are razor thin and will not last a year. Rear wheels and adjustments, are made of very very poor quality. Do not waste your money, other mowers much better quality on the market.

The mower cranks easily, usually on the first pull. I like the way it cuts, it does a good job even when you are going fast. I don't like the way the handle moves. I have to thighen it up at the bottom every couple of times that I use it. I do like the height adjustment feature, it is easy to adjust.

Purchased the snapper front drive high wheel model on 4/12/10 on sale for $299.  Went to sears and looked at all the lawn mowers on the floor, Snapper had a great padded handle, variable speed drive the bag was a little tricky to take on and off but I had planned on mulching. I always purchased the craftsman brand though I would try a name brand like Snapper.  Well took it out of the box and set it up it stated on the first pull. Variable speed move quick at top speed however i didn't even get one pass on the lawn. The rear wheel attachment was broken.  What poor quality control. I was going...

I bought this mower back in May of 2009. First thing a noticed was the the hieght adjustment levers were loose. But when I went to tighten them up the bolts were tight. Thought to myself "I can live with that. It wasn't too loose". The second thing I noticed is that the left front drive wheel was a little bent and the gear inside the wheel was not catching all the time for the drive system. But it was not that bad. The mower still moved by the power of the right wheel. So again I said I could live with it.

Now that I have had it for 1 year. I wish I would not have been lazy and just brought...

Great Mower but with a few issues

After reading all of the reviews, I decided to get one because I got a great deal on one of these new.  I quickly solved the problem of grass/dust shooting up out of the back of the mower (while mulching/side discharge is used).  I put foam weather stripping (sticky on one side) and stuck it to the mower frame so that the black plastic cover closed around it and sealed all gaps.  Perfect now... even though I should not have to do that.  Now... for the wheels...  Looks like the entire back wheel supports, axles, wheels, etc are not capable of supporting the mower effectively and are fragile...

Good Quality Mower

I have had no issues with my Snapper it's been cutting my grass very well. The engine starts on the first pull with no priming or choking and has lots of power. My Snapper is very solid and built very well just as I expected a Snapper to be built. The self propel is very good and the adjustable speed is nice to have. I'm not sure what some of the other reviews were talking about with bagging problems blowing out dust or grass. I use my bag every time and have had no problems. I think some people just get buyers remorse and want to talk trash. Sears stands behind what it sells and if these other...

I bought this mower in the summer of 2009. I read some of the reviews prior to purchasing it; wish I had paid more attention to the reviews. I purchased this mower from a Sears store and they praised the mower without stating any downside to it. All of the negative reviews are true. I use the catch bag. Grass blows out all over the deck. If it is real dry, it makes a dusty mess. After a couple of uses, I realized that one of the rear wheels had a bolt/nut missing, making the wheel cock. I got a new bolt and tightened all the others ones. Almost every time I use the mower, I have to tighten the...

Disappointing

I paid a lot more for the Snapper because I've always been told about the fine quality of their mowers. I now suspect that this reputation does not extend to their lower priced models. Mine had two pretty bad paint flaws on the deck (areas of bare steel)which should never have passed inspection. The back wheels were extremely loose, and I had to tighten them before beginning to mow. The Briggs and Stratton engine is great and started easily. A previous reviewer noted that when it's set for side discharge, it spews grass all over the mower (and me), and that's true. I mowed less than fifty feet... read full review »

OK. My new Snapper was is very difficult to start and began to sputter after only 4 months. That is 1 month over the 3 months Sears return policy without buying any extended warranty plan.

I do not have a big yard and only used about 7 times. Not only did it have troubles with starting and sputtering after 4 months, but the front grey belt protector began to melt right underneath the muffler. The belt that propels the front wheel is now exposed.

I called the Sears customer service hotline and the kind lady told me to take it back to the product pickup area. I did that and they took it and told...
