LockedElectric start problem

I have a brand new 26" snow blower and I tried to start it couple of times with the electric start and it gave an ignition noise and never started the blower, so started the blower manualy but then tried again to check the electric start and it stopped giving any noise when pressing it, I read in the service manual that the electric start disables it self for protection but I tried it several times the following day and still nothing.

Did I do something wrong or is it defective.

Thanks for the help.

Sounds defective to me.  The starter should disable itself  if it gets too hot.  That should only be after using it for several minutes.  All you can really do is plug it in and hit the button.  Are you certain you have a solid 110V at the plug?  Just for humor, try another cord.  Other than that, take it back and get a different machine.
