I have a dependable Craftsman snow blower, which starts every time when I need it to...as long as I run it DRY previous Spring..I live near Lake Michigan and the snow is often times wet...I am thinking of getting chains for added traction, but I see that wheel weights are also available..

What to use for added traction ????

Well... both, actually.

Chains first, then weights if more traction is needed.

I like getting some gasoline and puttign it all around my house to melt the snow up some.

Weights and chains..I think it would be good to have both on hand.

Where have you seen wheel weights for a snowthrower? Tirechains.com has 2 or 4 link-spaced snowthrower chains but Sears offers chains for tractors, and rear tires only. Wouldn't it make more sense to add a sandbag to the top of the auger housing, like you would with a snowcab?
