We love this machine.  We live in the San Bernardino Mountains in California so maybe we don't get the kind of snow the folks back east get.  But after 4 years of shoveling our 20' X 25' driveway, it was time to power up. What used to take 5 hours to clear now gets done in 20 minutes.  I even used it to clear our road when the county plows didn't come through.  It's easy to use.  Starts on a dime. One tank of gas lasts the season -- again, we don't get snow like others so we may not be a good reference for the amount of gas.  Last year was exceptional for us, and we used the snowblower almost...

I have to agree with the one poster regarding the chute control (side-to-side).  I originally purchased the Craftsman 26" without the power steering.  The chute control was apparently defective as it would barely operate even using both hands.  I went to the local Sears store to check out the snow blowers on the floor.  The 26" non-power steering model chute control didn't work as well.  Apparently, someone had put enough force on it to break the metal connection on the handle and it needed to be welded.  That's the explanation the Sears guy gave me for the poor performance.  I tried the...

I didn't pay all that money to have them take a new unit apart and change the carb. The second unit they sent me has a broken shute adjuster and will not move the shute position. I called again but now the unit is on backorder and will not arrive until Dec 15th, I hope this one does not have anything wrong with it. BTW I have been a mechanic for 32 years and ASE certified plus many many more so it's...

I purchased this product to replace an 11 year old Craftsman with a Snow King engine.  It was a 5hp and seemed to handle blowing snow just fine.  This one just doesn't have enough power.
