Glad I bought the Sony

Glad I bought the Sony, I researched many Digital DSL cameras, but this had the features that I felt would work best for me. This is the first month I have this, but am very happy with it. I had another brand that this replaced, and the Super Steady Shot option made this a better choice. I would get out of focus pictures, and with this camera, that is not happening. Also I can take multiple shots quickly, no longer waiting a couple of seconds for the camera to re-focus everything. And I have taking hundreds of shots indoors at a big party without the flash and the pictures came out great.... read full review »

5 stars

I purchased this camera after being a user of a point & shoot Olympus. This is the best purchase I've made to date. I did alot of research on SLR camera's and found that Sony offers the best deal. This camera takes the most beautiful pictures that do not lose their quality when you download them to your computer or printer. The only thing I suggest to anyone purchasing this camera is to make sure you buy the memory because the camera does not come with any.

This digital camera is very easy and versatile. Has a large viewing screen which makes it very nice to review pics. Takes nice, clear, vibrant pictures. Very happy with camera.

Great Camera

This camera takes super pictures, from distance to close up. I may get a zoom lens in the future, but for now it does all I want.

I Love This Camera

Sony has done it again. This is the 3rd Sony camera I've owned and they continue to make me happy. This camera is great and the 300mm lens makes it even better! So far, I haven't found anything that this camera can't do! It's even managed to renew my interest in creative photography!

I LOVE my Sony SLR a100.  I recently purchased a 50mm lens for it and the quality of the pictures is unmatched.  Sony is a trusted name and it is what the professionals use for sports.  That's enough for me!

As a professional photographer, I always look for the best in cameras, and after giving the Alpha Camera over $2000 of my dollars 5 months ago, I upgraded to a camera worth more than $10.000 for only $2000. What makes this camera worth buying is the variety of lenses available and makes the Canon Mark III look bad with only 10.1 Megapixels, while the Sony Alpha has 10.2 MegaPixels. I paid over $5000 for the Canon Mark III and with the long range lense over the mentioned $5.000 price making a total of $10.000. To my observation the Alpha camera has great vivid colors when used outdoors and indoors... read full review »

Beautiful Camera, Good flesh tones.

The way I look at it. For me a great camera has to take good pictures of people and give me good Jpegs. The Sony Alpha does. I have the Nikon 200 and it is a fantastic camera after processing in Raw. But pictures of people in Jpeg are downright awful. Too warm skin tones too start and the image size is small. I like the cooler skin tones of the Alpha and the nice saturation of colors and the image size is about right. To me a good camera needs to provide me with excellent jpegs because you can always create better pictures in Raw no matter which camera. I have only positives for this camera.... read full review »

So crisp and beautiful

If you want to capture a moment and evoke someone with memories, nostalgia, beauty, then you have to buy this camera. I went to the beach in the winter and brought this camera, I prolificly took pictures after pictures and was amazed by the crispness and the quality of them all. A must have!!

sony vs nikon

On one hand I believe I should have bought the Nikon D40 I was looking at, (cheaper, simpler, and less bells and whistles) but on the other hand this camera is by far the most amazing dslr for its price. Its anti-dust feature alone makes the camera worth buying. No more problems with dust on the sensor while changing lenses, nothing to worry about?! .... WOW ... It has already saved so many of my pictures from potential ruin since i'm constantly changing lenses. I plan on going back to college for photography so in the end this will be a fantastic entry level dslr for me..... However if your not... read full review »

Again, SONY creates an excellent camera

At first sight i new i had to obtain this excellent looking camera. Looking into the features and with in time the results im glad i purchased it, no regrets. I've photograph a wedding, and many studio shots, aswell as outdoors; giving a more proffesional detail to my final touches. My pictures are sharp & the color is right on. When interaction with bad lighting situations, it doesnt become a hard task. Purchasing this item will be money well spent for any new or experienced photographers. By the way, you must get both lenses, i purchased both and theyre amazing, its a must!!!

Excelence at a bargain

After photographing and video taping weddings and events for 17yrs and making that tough transition from film to didital, trust me when I say I have used them all. I traded my 2 1/4" film for a Nikon D!X several years ago but at home I needed something that the wife and kids can use too. I searched around and the Sony Alpha system stuck my intrest so hard I bought one. I bought mine with the 18X70 and the 75X300 zoom lenses and let me tell you, this camera runs circles around my other cameras costing thousands more. I love the ability to use 2 types of memory, its easy to use, I would recomend... read full review »

DSLR-A100K

I love this camera. Great inside pictures. It came with the 18-70 lens which is ok for close shots. I've ordered the 75-300 which should be better for longer shots. Seems very good in low light, as in inside pictures. a little expensive but what a camera.

sony slr

Thisd is to me a better vaue than the nikon or canon ( even thoug I have owne 4 canon slrs at one time and over 7 lenses) due to two main things 1.) image stabilisation is a function of the camera not the lens so all compatable lenses enjoy image stabilisation. 2.) Lots of old minolta and maxim/minolta lense out there fit this camera. Like anything new it takes a little bit of time to grok all the features but it is time well spent. As to 8 vs 10 vs 12 or more megs for the sensor it becomes a bit pointless after a while. Most shots are never printed to a scale that wil ever tax the capability of... read full review »
