It was December 2009, my wife, daughter and I were doing last minute Christmas shopping. While they were looking at baby things, I wandered over to the Television Department. I'd been shopping for a large screen HDTV for some time and had come to the conclusion that all we could afford was a 40 or 42 inch LCD screen. After researching today's market of flat panel TVs for a couple of weeks prior to purchasing, I ended up going with Sony. For the past few years since buying my last flat panel, Sony seems to maintain being one of the top 3 sellers. I looked at & read reviews on LG, Sharp, Samsung as well as some others, but Sony always seems to come up on top. BTW, I found that you actually have to read the reviews and not just scan the ratings. Unfortunately it seems that "a lot" of people give negative points based on sound quality. WHAT DOES ANYBODY EXPECT A THIN FLAT PANEL TO SOUND LIKE? Of course it's not...

Everything I wanted to anchor my home entertainment center and more. Big enough for wide-screen and not overwhelming for full screen. Doesn't overpower the room, but sure makes its presence felt.
I bought the sony bravia 52 in flat screen and also the sony saround sound along with the blue ray player. I am easy to please but this is absolutly amazing in picture quality and sound! The flat screen is amazingly light for it's size and extremely stable were it sits. Which is very important for me since I have 3 crazy boys. It has many options for picture display and sound quality as well as easy hook up options for gamers. This is above and beyond what I expected. So needless to say I am very happy with my purchase!
We got this TV on a great sale at Sears several months ago and have absolutely loved it! We are STILL often impressed by the picture quality and options on the TV. We replaced an old console type big screen TV with this new one, and the difference in picture quality is night and day. We also did a lot of research on the new TV before purchasing it (as we do every large purchase) and were happy to find that Sony Bravias are some of the best quality TVs out there. I bought this TV online, and picked it up several hours later. They sent me an email within 15 minutes that told me I could pick up the TV immediately. At the store, it only took 7 or 8 minutes to get the TV and load it in my vehicle. I took it home, and within 20 minutes I was looking at a beautiful picture in high-def. This whole buying process is typical of my experiences with Sears in the past. And to top it off, they gave me a Sony Blu-ray Disk Player, for free! I am a very satisfied customer!

This flat screen is just like looking through a window at LIVE. The colors are brilliant. The size for the room that it is in is perfect. I would recommend this LCD for all in which it fits your budget. It is expensive but then as the old saying goes, "you get what you pay for." When we play our blu-ray with it, it is truely art. Even the DVDs are enhanced. I have a SHARP Aquos 46" as well. Great TV too, but the SONY does have a much better time when handling fast action. Again, the price is not for everybody, but WOW, it may just be worth it.
Bought this tv last weekend and couldn't be more happy! You won't be disappointed. I did a lot of research an for us this tv just made the most sense. Blu-ray is out of this world!
