Its great - once you get it hooked -up it can turn your old VHS tapes into DVDs-in no time, you don't have to use your tv to dub and get rid of commercials - the small monitor on this unit lets you do that and still watch tv or just turn on your VCR and let the unit run. It can record off, your VCR or DVR, with ease -set the tape speed of your tape, on the menu of this unit and it will record a DVD in that tape speed from SP to SLP or EP. I love it and my friends want to borrow it, this portable unit, can hook-up to a VCR or DVR, anywhere. For the price its worth $179.99 and add the extented warrenty, this gives you added protection. I recommend this product to all those VHS tape lovers, who have many years of recording off of the TV/VCR and turn them into DVDs, the space you save and the ability to save older recordings, keeps the memories alive for years to come.
