“great hardware, not enough family games”

Sony PS3, Console 80 GB with Motor Storm — 

We bought this machine for the muscle the new hardware provides, backwards compatibility and as a relatively cheap blueray player. The hardware is great and output is beautiful, even all our old regular DVDs look better, so not much need to buy blueray discs, especially for kids movies. Connecting to our wifi network was easy and going online adds functionality. The biggest letdown has been the lack of games appropriate for younger kids (6-12). We don't care for sports games, although I've heard some are well done. We looked forward to Spiderman 3, but it plays poorly compared to the first two games for PS2. We did get Lego Star Wars Complete but are waiting for Christmas to give it, but that should be a good one. And we are considering Ratchet & Clanks new game. Other than these few games, the selection is poor. We would buy again, but the cheaper version, since all the hard drive space is wasted not having many games that appeal to us!
