This system, although XBOX360 was a little bit less in price, Sony has always took the time to make quality priorety in their game systems and games. We bought this machine for the muscle the new hardware provides, backwards compatibility and as a relatively cheap blueray player. Think of the system like this the new 80gb Play station 3 it is the best. First it has a blue Ray player it makes your blue ray movies on your Hd Tv look fantastic. PLus it has cool games like the up and coming Tekken6 great for kids that like to have a little action. Also need for speed pro street has amazing graphics for all those race fans out their. Plus the package brings a game Motor Storm which is good for all types of gamers. JUST WHEN YOU THINK THAT SONY COULDN'T POSSIBLY CREATE ANOTHER PLAYSTATION CONSOLE TO SUPERSEDE ITS PREVIOUS SYSTEM PLAYSTATION 2, WELL THEY HAVE DONE IT AGAIN! THE GRAPHICS ARE PHENOMENAL AS WELL AS ALL THE EXTRA FUNCTIONS THIS CONSOLE HAS TO OFFER. IT HAS MUCH MORE TO OFFER THAN JUST VIDEO GAMES. IT IS BASICALLY A HOME ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM. X-BOX 360 IS NICE BUT REALLY DOESN'T COMPARE TO THE NEW PS3 SYSTEM. THE CURRENT PRICE OF PS3 IS VERY REASONABLE ONCE YOU REVIEW EVERYTHING IT HAS TO OFFER.

I liked the PS3 because of all it has to offer. Even though you pay $400-$500 for it, you get the game system, blue ray disc player (which is $250 alone)and a computer all put into one, so you get your money's worth, plus a whole lot more. The 80 GB also lets you play PS2 games, but the 40 GB does not. the graphics are the best with a full HD TV, but works well on a normal digital TV. In my opinion, it is well worth the money. I am 35 and have 2 boys and we all love to play it together.

The new PS3 is alsome, My husband loves his new game. When your playing the PS3 its like the game is comming out your T.v, With the 80 bit my husband is able to play online around the world & we think its great! We also purchased a 37inch plasma HDTV to go with the PS3 & WOW... it knocks our socks off. I would really really recommend the PS3 80 bit to anyone whos looking to buy a gaming system. We got it all at kmart after Thanksgiving sale!!!

I have had my PS3 for 3 months now and I'am still in awe. It works flawslessly and has had no problem of overheating what so ever and it does get used for extended periods of time. Watching Blu ray movies on it is an awesome expierance as I have it hooked up to a very nice LCD TV. Gaming is top notch and the playstation store improves from week to week. You simply cannot go wrong with the PS3, amazing graphics. You will be happy

grandma's sleepover

When my grandchildren and I have a sleepover. We stay up and play games. Love that it is backwards so we can use the previous games. Also love the new blu-ray tech. The online features are great . Love the memory capability that it has. We have owned everyone of the systems from the beginning. Even the portables. The quality of the Sony products rocks ! Love the idea of keeping my grandchildren in the lastest products.

I purchased the playstation3 and I must say that Sony really outdone themselves this time. The PS3 is such a good value, being that it has a Blue-Ray DVD player build in (which could and would easily cost $300-$500 by itself). The PS3 is so much better that the Xbox and PS2 (both of which I have owned) and I can't really see Sony, or anyone else, topping this game system. A MUST HAVE FOR ALL THE MEN IN THE WORLD!!!!

I just bought the PS3 for my boyfriend and he loves it..The graphics are amazing, We love being able to watch the crystal clear blueray discs on it. The best part was how happy it made him, he has been wanting one since they came out, and I thought the price and set for this was great so I jumped on it..I am now the Best Girl-Friend ever...so girls buy one of these for your guys and you will not be sorry...

Blu-Ray player, 5 free Blu-Ray movies (rebate), and a next generation gaming console for $500.00? I only wish I would have waited a year. The great games are coming, and the price reductions are over. Time to buy. Time to stop delaying the inevitable, Sony will win the console and high definition format wars. I found the playing on the PS3 to be great with wonderful grapics. My only complaints is the rate at which the games are coming out. There is not much to choose from, yet it has been over a year since this system has been out. If I had a choice, I would of waited to buy the system when more games were out and the prices were lower on the systems.

I did find the system a bit pricy but after starting with Atari kind of kicking things off years ago and watching Sony get involved in the advancements in these gaming systems, Sony has continued to advance and make the upgrades needed to keep the interest going. Plenty of enjoyment for the whole family no matter what your interest is.
