DragonQuest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King, is a great RPG for gamers to play. It has great game-play, graphics, story line, voice actors, and battle system. This RPG has some awesome humor moments that will make you laugh and keep you involved in the storyline from the beginning of the game all the way to the end. This game is worth the price you will pay for it. This game has 80+ hours of game-play, stunning cut scenes and many mini games that make it a must own for the PS2. This is re-playable anytime and it will be a classic for this series in no time.
This game is fantastic! No lie. I am judging from a viewpoint of having played Dragon Warrior (Dragon Quest in Japan) since the first one came out. I'm going to start by talking about something that occurs in the middle of the game, and that is the Monster Arena. All I can say is, THIS WAS SO COOL!. I love seeing cameos of Ragnar and Taloon as team owners, and the owner Monty is the best. Yes, yes... of course the game was beautiful, and I don't really care if the strory isn't there - but it is! Having played DW games since the NES days I had a fair idea as to how the controls would handle. The character movement is sharp and the response time for the commands is just right. I found that the controls have a fluid feel and the menu and such is well laid out. The Menu has been redefined and it takes some getting used to but after a half hour it was like second nature to me. Controls Rating = B+ Next up Visuals. The game looks beautiful. This is one of the greatest games in since the Dragon Warrior series began!!! Top notch graphics, and hours upon hours of gameplay. A MUST GET for any series RPGer, or someone just wanting something to take up a lot of time! :)
I loved this game. Lots of great storylines. Great graphics. A great RPG. Ranks up there with Zelda in my book. Doesn't require great reflex skills - all mental.
